I'm glad that your doc is so attentive & caring! I've got a doc like that now, too, although I went through some bad ones before I came to him. I wish everyone could have docs like these!

I hope you are feeling better (both with pain & the w/d's), now that your doc has adjusted your meds!

No..unfortunatley I don't feel better.  I tried to call the Doc this afternoon and found out that he left the offic at 11:00...That helped!! So, I have to go through this for at least 3 days!!  I hate withdrawls!!  And my pain is worse, and in new places!!  So, I may not be around this weekend..and it sucks because my Birthday is on Sunday..

Oh well, I guess it could be worse!! At least I have something to take...it just doesn't work that well...

Thanks everyone,
Me.

I'm glad you have such a great pain doc, mine is the same way, I have his cell number.  I hope taking the 2 makes a difference.  I briefly saw a different pain doc due to mine moving further away(I am now back with him) and he prescribed me methadone to just take at night.  I was nervous and never took it, so I don't know how it works. It definately a balancing act getting the right meds to work for us.  I hope I never have to change because mine work well for me.

Hon I am so so sorry about this and as you can see many of us feel you! We anticipated this happening since we discussed this in the long long thread about switching over and how it is not an easy thing to do. Coming from methadone to anything is going to cause that recall what I said about the receptors it hits on?

It should thank goodness for you only last a bit longer now as within a week most of the methadone should all but out of your system and the MS should be getting in good.

I have said this so so many times that I wish these Docs would talk to their pharm reps and God knows they see them in office enough times,LOl and get the real low down on methadone and how to take someone from opiate to another without putting them thru pure h**L.  You can safely take both of these meds together as you have seen here folks that use MS as a B/T med on methadone so slowly weaning you off one and onto the other wouldnt have caused any great harm and sure would have been far more comfortable on you.

Like someone suggested you might give the service a call dont know how much good that would do as most Docs wont mess with the switchover rate of another one but who knows you might get lucky. A few mgs of methadone prescribed on a tapering schedule would eliminate all that you are going thru. You might when you get ahold of someone ask if that would be possible for you to do and tell them you read up on it via the internet and it suggested this was the way to switch over easily by cutting down the dose of meth and increasing the MS slowly.

Good luck to you and hope you have one of the heated snuggies and lots of wool socks! I spend hours in the bath until I have used all the hot water!

By the way Happy Birthday to  you!

smhair  Thank you everyone!!! I took my meds before I even let my feet hit the floor this morning and so far so good... It hasn't been that long..maybe 3 hours since I slept late today (had a rough night).  But, yes I agree...most PM Docs give out Methadone like it's some Miracle Drug.. And for me it was..up until a couple of weeks ago.  I think I should have asked to get an increase instead of even mentioning changing to something else... Maybe Morphine isn't for me...But what else could I try?  any suggestions?  I have been on Methadone, MS Contin, Fentynl patches, Lortab 10 for BT, Oxycodone 15 for BT, and I don't know what else...

Any ideas would be very helpful...Right now I'm just waiting for the sweats and pain to kick in...Maybe it won't, maybe I;m already through the worst of it...

Thanks for the B-day wishes....It means so much to me...

My post to you is out sailing in the internet. Drat.

I spoke to you about code. Can't find your post. Or mine. Drat.

It's time for me to watch American Idol. I haven't peeked.

It's will be my midnight surprise.

Talk tomorrow and I'll tell you about the roses in my to-be new yard and the
interior decorator. (Makes me n-n-nervous.) smilewinkgrin

I don't think she'll understand. Few dew.

Pamela: Your 'code' post is floating on page three of "No more methadone for me" thread. Right about my post to you on that same page 3.
