frances, my dr usually gives me 2 scripts  one for the day of my appt and one for the next month.
Percocet,ambien,elavil,reglan , neurontin,zyrtec and soma.
 
spinal conditions: Scolosis,herniated discs,spinal blockage,Spinal stenosis,bursitis ,Fibro,and arthritis

As long as they are not post-dated C2 scripts, there isn't a problem with federal law. Different states have different laws about how long scripts are valid for. In Illinois, it is 7 days. In other states, it can be much longer. Perhaps scripts in your state are valid for 30 days or more in which case what your doctor is doing is perfectly legal.

In the case that your doctor post-dates your Percocet scripts, I really don't want to get into an argument about that. I posted the link to the DEA's website and you are welcome to read the law for yourself. I wasn't trying to bash anyone, I was just sharing the information about what is permitted under U.S. law. Beyond that, I shared my personal experience seeing a couple of people get kicked out of my PM's clinic b/c they were asking him to post-date scripts. It's not illegal to ask, but some PM's are very sensitive about that kind of thing. I really was just trying to help.
