OK, time to fess up! Did you eat paste in kindergarten?? Huh, huh, huh??? Or maybe you were more into crayons? When I was that age, which was about the time paper was invented...lol, we had those little jars of white paste with the spreader inside the lid. Those were so cool!! I just loved having my very own jar. And when the teacher wasn't looking I would sneak a lick! That stuff was sweet tasting and since I was born with a sweet tooth, what did they expect. They made me have a jar of it, after all!!

What silly things did you do in kindergarten or at that age???

Oh, Chutz I totally forgot about those little jars of white paste with the little spreader lol. Wow, stepping back in time here. I think nearly every kid tried to sneak a lick off the spreader, I know I sure did. Gee, our little ones now don't have that kind of stuff to look forward too.

That does go way back. It is amazing that reading this I could picture exactly what it looked like way back then. I can remember the smell and yes, me too,the taste. That is funny.
I vaguely remember kindergarten so I really can't share much on this topic. I do remember my teachers' name was Mrs.Wiggle and she had a silly song for us that went with her name -kinda wiggle your fingers, wiggle your toes...

I use to love that stuff, I never really ate it, but I would spread it on my lips like chapstick, I wonder why they discontiued it.....lol

actually it's good it's gone cause my daughter would of ate it, when she was just learning how to get around by crawling, she would eat crayons, I had to hide them all the time up high, but since my son loves to draw, he would leave them around. She had some of the most colorful diapers I've ever seen, and I'm talking like 50% of it was nothing but colorful bits of wax. But she loves to eat wild things still, once I caught her eating out of a mayo jar with a spoon.....

I didn't eat it but loved the smell, I used to put it on my hands to make it look like I had gloves on, then I would make a handprint on paper with this mess, when it was dry you could peel it off!!

Well first of all, I never went to kindergarten.  I started school in the first grade.  And as for paste, I have sad memories.  The paste was kept on a desk in the front of the room, and each person had to go up in order and grab a jar and go back to their seat to start with the tasks of the day.  Well I was too shy to get out of my seat, so the teacher made me go and I cried all the way up and back.  Also, the little girl next to me used to make faces at me and that would start the tears to roll.  Very sensitive child, I guess.  But it didn't take me too long to become acclimated in school and I started to make friends after that.

As always, thanks for letting me share.

Jeez, Linda! I'm glad most teachers aren't that mean these days. But sad to say, kids are still very hurtful to each other today as long ago. Guess that will never end. But...Glue Eaters, Unite!...lol
