Okay....here is my question: Does anybody have problems taking Oxycodone 15mg for BT pain?  When I first got switched from Lortab 10 to Roxicodone 15mg. I thought "Great"!!!  But only 1 week later I noticed headaches...and it seems like it doesn't work as well as the Lortab 10's did.. The reason I wanted something different was because the Lortab seemed to fizzle out very soon after taking it (I took it for 2 years), and it made my stomach hurt.  First he put me on Percocet 10's but I still had stomache aches.  Then he said that the Roxicodone didn't have any filler and would work better....Now I can't really tell that I even take it, and my body feels like lead....

Anyone?

Hi Me,

I can't help you out with the headaches bit, as the period in which I was taking oxycodone, I didn't have any such side effects. But I could have sworn that there was a post (and by post I actually mean thread) very similar to this in recent times. If I remember correctly, someone else was complaining about headaches after they take their pain meds (and I even think it may have been oxycodone). It wasn't the main topic of the thread - I think it was someone relatively new. I might be wrong, but you might want to flip through some "old" posts. I think this one was sometime within the last month to month & a half. Maybe that post (if it exists) will provide some helpful information. If I had more time I would try to find it for you.

Skeye

Could be your having a reaction to the medicine change, sure wish we could all take the
meds the doctors prescibed without any complications, as it would make life easier..
will keep you in my thoughts and you might want to get back into the doctor and tell him/her
about this reaction, asap...

I love Hugs of all kinds from anyone willing to give them....so bring them on....about the meds, I actually have been taking Oxycodone for a couple of months now, and I have never fully gotten relief from them. I had hoped that I would get relief in time but I am thinking NO... Maybe I am one of those people that Oxycodone doesn't really work for. Should I ask about getting the 30 mg. pills instead? Maybe I just need an increase. Oh well, on amother quest for the perfect pain pill.... Will it ever end?

Me, Greetings! I am not an expert and I don't play one on TV or on the internet. But I wish I was. I am sure you know that each of us handles individual meds differently than another person. Sometimes it does not make sense. I started a thread about a week ago about big disappointments. Part of the thought was we enter each new treatment or new drug regement with the hope of being pain free but it does not happen. In fact, we who frequent this forum have often tried so many different drugs that we wonder if there is any that will actually work for us. Your thought process is so normal. We hope that if the drug does not work, maybe more will help. Not because we crave the drug we just want relief. It seems that the relief we look for keeps evading us and some days we handle it better than other days. We can't give up hope that someday, some doctor, will give us a script for some medication that will give us what we desire with all our being without side effects that counter act any relief we found. I am Until then we keep hoping and trying and when we hear that someone else finds even partial relief we rejoice and are so thankful they found help but then we wonder when it is our turn. Keep hoping and keep trying and someday I pray it is your turn to feel the relief you are looking for. Until then, we are here for each other.

I will say I do get a headache from my oxy. Sometimes it can get bad but my relief with the kidneys is well worth the medication headache. I'm just one of those people that would rather have a headache then nerve pain, obstruction pain (kidney stones) and bladder pain.

I know for a fact its from my oxy. At night I don't take pain meds (well tuesday I start an added pain med when its delivered to the pharamcy) so the headache is not there.

My meaning is, Is the side effect tolerable for the relief you get?

Hi Skeye and Me,

I have tried now three times to get this response into the system.

I was the one you were thinking of with regard to oxy and headaches. Turned out the generic oxycodone I was on from Mallincrodt was causing my headaches. I switched to a different generic and the headaches disappeared.

It is certainly worth a try. You may have to switch pharmacies to get another brand. It depends on their sourcing policies. Good luck!!
