Hi all...

I sneaked away for a few days with hubby...dragged the trailer to the beach and had a wonderful rest. I could have stayed and stayed....ahhhhhh It's where I release my tension and worries.

BUT...what I want to ask about is starting up a chat night again. It will be listed under Chronic Pain but will be open to all who feel it applies to them. Many of the forums on Healing Well cause chronic pain so we may have people with many types of disorders. I think this is a plus because it helps us understand others pain and we may not only gain some insight but some new ideas from each other on ways to help ease the discomfort we live with.

I have added a poll so we can see what night would be the best for the most people. The time frame would be ...6PM Pacific Time...7 Mountain... 8 Central.... 9 Eastern. That has worked out best in the past. Might be a bit early on one end and a bit late on the other, but we will have to compromise. If there are people who need to have a daytime forum I will be able to do that starting in the fall. The rest of the summer I have a grandson during the day so can't do a chat. Being almost 3 y/o makes for a very busy little boy.

So, please vote on which night would be preferable and post with suggestions and ideas. I want this to be the kind of chat you'd like to have. In the past I've conducted chats in a somewhat formal way but we can decide on that later. Once we get things set I will post days, times, how to 'Chat' and a few courtesies of joining in on a chat. It's really fun and if you've never tried it you can come into the room and actually never have to talk yet you can still see what everyone else is saying. No pressure is put on anyone. This is for fun, information and some relaxation. Stress is something we do NOT need. smhair

Please vote and let me know what you think....

I am here at the forum just about every day several times a day ( maybe to many times a day!) so the days you have listed are fine with me, to bad you could not have it just a later in the evening, 9 or 10 central, I know at night allot of times I don't get on till after 9PM Central time and most everyone else is on too around that time. And some times even later!

I would be happy to do it later but it may be too late for the folks on the East coast. Any comments would be appreciated. Also, I likely will add a daytime chat this fall.

Hey Chutzie, I too am open on any evening. I use get in the crohns chats and we had a blast with it. It seems at one time there a chat here few yrs back and they had it being a formal chat. They picked a topic and discussed it pretty much only. I am not too fond of that type of chat forum, just my 2 cents worth lol. I am having major puter problems, really not puter but internet problems and I am ready to throw the whole thing out this upstairs bedroom window. My dsl modem pooped out so I went to Best Buy and bought a new one. Now my speed is a snails pace so they are sending out a line man tomorrow to check my phone lines, thats another story in itself. lol. Hugs, Susie

Chutzie,
I voted for Sat. because living on the east coast and getting up for work at 4:00am on weekdays makes it pretty rough to be awake much past 9 or 10 and I'm pretty worthless at that time of the evening! I'm up every hour like clockwork all night and sometimes can't get back to sleep because stuff hurts so I take whatever I can get. I know a lot of people go out and have plans on Sat. night but living alone if I'm not with my wife on those lucky weekends, I'm pretty much a homebody! Sat. night is pretty much the only night I stay up. This is just my selfish reason as I would love to chat with my favorite peeps in the whole world. If you pick another night I totally understand so unless there are other eastcoaster's like me who vote for Sat. please don't feel obligated. I could be a bad boy and stay up occasionetly on your other chat night!
Thanks, we all apreciate you so much for all you do for us!!
Big Huggie-Wuggs are coming at you!

I'm open for anything. Just as long as I can be around I work Tuesday thru Thursday. Any night of the week or weekend would be great with me.

Straydog you are right the formal chats can be annoying. I can see having them but it would be nice to have a chat time that is open. I would say one night formal for information purposes and one night for party night....Whoa hoooo

I haven't commented because I'm not sure how much I'll join the chat, although I'm a good lurker! Sometimes I just don't have the energy to follow a fast moving conversation!

I've enjoyed some chats I've been in that have focused on a hobby or topic, and don't mind a moderated chat, but sometimes people hang around afterward and chat more informally. But take my thoughts with a grain of salt, as I probably won't be reguarly involved. Nothing personal to anyone!!

Any night (except maybe Saturday) would probably work for me. I won't promise anything, but I am usually around. Actually 9 pm EST is generally earlier than I get here! Too many sleepless nights.

Looks like we're down to Thursday in here and I also ran the survey in the fibromyalgia forum. They are a toss-up between Thursday and Saturday. Are there any comments on whether you'd prefer a weekend or a week night? Saturday's are hard for me as we're often busy with family but I could do Sunday night. One last time here...and we'll start chats next week.

Thanks Pa...it's sounding like Thursday will be it as most people are in favor of it. Will post about chat days and times over the weekend.
