Hellow my Dear Cyber Family!
To all of you who know me and consitancly give me great advice, THANK YOU!!! It finally sunk in and I acted on it today! After a Great weekend with my wife who drove the 250 miles down to see me and go to our marage councelor on Sat. we descided that enough is enough! I had an epiffany!!
I gave my waco boss 2 weeks notice today! Yes, it's time to go and act like a married couple again after 13 months apart! I finally got my priorities in order. I really can't say much else because I am totally spent physically & emotionally and must hit the sack! I'll be back tomorrow if anyone wants to hear more about it. If not I certanly understand as I've bored all of Y'all with enough job stories in the past. So again to all who advised me to "Get the hell out of Dodge" THANK YOU! I wish I had listenned long ago! Now a great weight has been lifted and I'm happier than I can remember being in a long time! The countdown has started! 9 work days to go! Good Night All!!!

Pete, Congratulations! I hope the next two weeks don't prove to be too difficult and that the boss does not try and retaliate. I am happy that you and your wife are going to get things together. Please let us know more as time permits. Do I hear fishing time is going to increase?

Pete, I am so happy for you!!! Good for you for giving your 2 week notice. It sounds like you did the right thing. Your boss was just too much for anyone to have to put up with.

I am especially glad to hear you and your wife are getting back together after 13 months apart. That is truly wonderful.

It is understanding to be physically and emotionally tired. You've had some pretty big decisions to make!! I hope you get some good sleep tonight. You deserve it. And again, I am very happy for you. And I wish you the very best. Keep us posted on how it's going when you have time. Was your boss suprised to get your notice? How is he taking it?

Pete I congratulate You, I must admit I did not and do not, quite understand what was or is, going on with you and you working where you are and your wife living some where else? Allot of that must have been posted before my time here! But from your post that I have read since being introduced to this forum, in March, at least you and your wife  are going to counseling together! That is a BIGGY! A very Big Biggy! And believe me that Crap about "separation makes the heart grow fonder" well I can tell you from have numerous periods of separation  some rather long, do to my job in the military for 22 plus years, that separation from ones spouse and family does not necessarily make the the heart grow fonder, it puts stress on the heart and the marriage and it is not good for any relationship period! If your married then a husband and wife should be together! Sounds like you have made a wise choice Pete!
With you both working on saving and making your marriage strong, and being together, your making for a successful outcome! yeah

I do wish you both all the best!
Good Luck to You

Pete,

I am doing CARTWHEELS...well er in my mind anyway.  GOOD FOR YOU!  There is nothing in this world that is worth the crap you have taken from FREAKING WACKO BOSS....your whole world is about to change!  The stress you are leaving behind can only do good for your aching painful body!

CONGRATULATIONS and MUCH LOVE to you and your Wife!

Pete,

Contratulations to you! I know that had to be a tough decision. But you have to be happy with what you do and you were definately not (from your posts) happy with the job or (mostly) whacko boss. You had to get out before the job ruined you. I'm sure things will start going your way soon. You have faith in yourself now and you know what you won't tolerate. That sounds like a strong person to me. Good luck!

CONGRATULATIONS Pete!!!! I am so happy that you were able to come to a decision! That must have taken some nerve to do.
You certainly don't need this boss slowing you down!! There are plenty of other jobs out there - actually, I suppose I should watch what I say due to the economy - but, there are certainly plenty of people out there who would want YOU to work for them & who would treat you much much better & truly value your skills! Say goodbye to your "wacko boss," as Patti likes to put it :-), and never look back!!

It is also such wonderful news that you will now be able to spend the time with your wife that you need & deserve. I'm sure she is thrilled, to say the least!

Good for you Pete!! And we're all ears if you want to tell us more; always are.

many hugs,
Skeye

CRAP! I just wrote to all Y'all volumes about what happened and is happening, got an instant message from the spousal unit, answered it and my log-on timed out here and ERASED the whole enchalata! Don't you just hate it when that happens?

Anyway, Thank You so much for yoyr enthusiastic replies! I love them and I love yuze Gize too! I'll try but don't think I can write it all over again, I may have to do it in parts if you really want to hear it all. It was a long and boring post for sure!

First may I say, I'm really sorry for leaving you hanging, I've been pretty worn out since Monday! I had to entertain my good friend Jack who's wife died 6 months ago of pancreatic cancer. He was in a bad way and needed a shoulder to cry on, it lasted passed my bedtime last night w/ no time to post!

So here's what's transpired since Monday >>> For time and typing I'll just call my exboss wb=wackoboss, Well when I gave him my written resignation, at first, he didn't believe me and just knew he could talk me out of it like the last time I resigned! He thought I was just pissed at the way he's been treating me since my surgery>NOT! I asured him it was real this time and it wasn't about being pissed or me wanting to sue his ***! It was about me, my wife, my health and my living sittuation. Of course he would have none of it. So he was pissed off and hadn't talked to me untill today. He offered my job to my friend John who took over for me while I was out not 1 minute after I left his office because before I got to my office my cell rang, it was John. "Why didn't you give me a heads up about quitting like you promissed me John said!!! John, I just quit 60 seconds ago, I had to make sure wb knew I wasn't kidding first! John accepted the job Monday afternoon, poor guy! He really hasn't a clue what he's in for as while I was out, it was quite slow and all he did was take orders, not the other 78 jobs that I do! Also, unfortunately he is starting behind the 8-ball already as he in the field as a foreman was already one of wb's favorite whipping boys! The difference being out in the field, he only got yelled at 2 or 3 times a day at the most, wait till he's right down the hall! Not to be a bragger but another BIG thing is John has never worked in an office and really doesn't know very much about purchasing other than knowing the matterials he's come across in the feild, he doesn't know one onehundreth what I do!! The boys are already taking bets on how long he'll last w/o having a breakdown or quiting!

So I know I'm dragging on and  so I'll get to the meat of the news! Wb popped his head into my office this afternoon after not saying a word to me for 3 days! He had to ask me about something to do with a special order. After cluing him in on what he wanted, I looked him straight in the eyes and asked, "So Joe, are you really that pissed off at me?"
Enter the Twilight Zone>>>>> "No, why would I be pissed at you? You have to live your life, Don't you think I know how much you miss your wife? Don't you know that I've seen how you have been working in so much pain ever since you started here? Don't you know how much I apreciate how much you have done for me and the company? I was floored! So Joe, does this mean you will write me a nice letter and give me a good reference? "Of course I will, why wouldn't I?" I just don't get it???? But, tomorrow, I'll write two letters, one stating how great I am for any future employer and one stating how I've been working for him in pain for 3 1/2 years and just can't handle it anymore for Social Security Dissability if I go that rout and ask him to sign them! The guy is dam near illiterate and horably dislectic, I don't want him personally writing me anything! So dat's da news and you're up to date even though I'm sure that reading this post was very painful> Sorry!!! I know it must have been so I'll give y'all a break and stop now! The lost post was twice as long! Your lucky you didn't get that one!!

Love all of You!

Pete

PS> My friend Jack and I are going north this weekend to fish! My wife has plans and will not be around so it's a good idea for bothe Jack & Pete. nothing like being out in Mother Nature to take your mind off of stuff!!!

Pete, I sure can  relate to you losing your post. It has happened to me sooo many times. It is very frustrating to spend all that time typing and trying to get the words out and then to lose it all!! It has happened many times to me and it usually is with a long post.

I am glad you wb did have some nice things to say. He needs to understand that he shouldn't go around yelling at people for whatever reasons and expect to have them stay and put up with it. It is just the wrong way to run a business. It sounds like he needs to do some personality research and learn the right way to act. He will realize as well as John just what all you did at your job.

It was a real big step you took and I really am proud of you for finally having enough and not taking that abuse from him anymore. Are you planning on finding another job? Well, good luck to you. I really mean that.

I was really glad to hear that you and your wife are getting back together. That is really great. And once the separation takes place, it is hard to reconcile. So it is extra special!!! yeah It will mean alot to the both of you to know what all you both went through to get there. So is she moving back to you or are you moving to where she is? When is the exciting day? I am happy for you both. This is great news!!

I am glad that your friend is able to lean on you and feels comfortable doing so. Losing a spouse to death is a horrible thing. My first husband passed away from a brain anureysm. His death was sudden. Although he was in a coma for 2 days. Losing a spouse through a long illness...bless his heart. Continue to be there for him, if you can. He really needs to be able to lean on friends now. I think the fishing trip will be great for the both of you. Sounds like fun. And a person can never have too much fun.

Thanks for keeping us up to date on what is going  on with you. You know we all care about you. And we are always here for you! smilewinkgrin

Pete,

I'm so glad he showed his human side to you!  You deserve only to hear good things after all you've done and been through.  Now you can walk away and not look back!  You gave 200% to your job now its time for you to put your energy into healing you!  I am rooting for SSD approval, so you can relax, fish and spend time with your wife!

Take Care!

Pete, you are my hero right now. I would also add, watch your back because miracles do happen but I would wait and see if the old WB is really as sincere as he says he is. It is great that you and Jack are able to support each other through a very rewarding time tempting the fish. I just wish I could join you guys. Have fun, relax and enjoy the time. You deserve it.

Hi Pete:

I bet your son's are proud of Big Pops!

I just wanted to say Congratulations again, and again, and again, and again!!!!  yeah I'm glad that the WB was at least human, if only for a minute, and let you know that he did recognize all that you've been going through and despite your circumstances, you worked your a** off for him through it all.

Enjoy your relaxing weekend with your buddy.  We'll be helping you count down the days until your done with the WB.  Keep us posted!

Dear Pete,

Though I'm not on here much, I am now and want to give you a HUGE congratulations. I may not know of all your past troubles but read how happy you are now and can't help but not feel happy for you. To quit a job that had been treating you poorly is a great relief, and to spend time with your wife is fantastic--I'm very happy about that.

May you be blessed and may the blessings keep rolling in.

Pete,

I'm so glad that things are working out so well for you! I think your decision to quit is going to bring on a new & prosperous period of your life! Have a great time on your fishing trip & don't hold back the celebration!

Skeye

ps - Knock on wood, I haven't lost a post yet, but I'm always paranoid (especially after hearing everyone's stories), so when I write a decent length post, I tend to highlight & copy what I have written periodically, that way, if I were to lose the post, I would still have the majority of it copied & could paste that into a new post, rather than start from scratch. If you remember to do so, you might find it helpful.

I'm so thrilled for you Pete, I hope you have a fabulous weekend fishing and mother nature is very healing for you and your friend. I was really annoyed at your WB and feel so pleased he has some honesty lurking in him somewhere. I hope for all the best with your wife, you really deserve some good to come your way, golitho.
