PaLady, I will be thinking about you tomorrow,as well. I know you aren't looking forward to your endoscopy and colonoscopy. I am glad you are having them done. And once it is all over with, you will be too. Maybe you can give them a heads up and they may can make some adjustments in the positioning. That way you won't have an increase in your pain due to that. I do hope everything goes well for you. And you know you have a big family here all wishing you the best. When you feel up to it, please post and let us know how you are doing.

PALady,

Best wixhes for an uneventful set of procedures on Monday. I know this is unpleasant, especially the prep for the colonoscopy, but if you get past that the worst is over. I hope everything checks out normally.

Hi Palady,

I just wrote to you on your thread to fatherjohn, as I hadn't seen this thread yet! I hope you're doing alright & aren't experiencing too much discomfort! Best of luck tomorrow! I know that you are going to get through this & do just fine! At least you'll get a nice nap out of it! That's certainly something, since we CPers hardly sleep, and not for lack of wanting, nor needing the sleep!

PAlady, As I stated on the other thread, We will both be able to tell stories tomorrow of great strength, victory standing (or Laying) tall and showing these doctors who they are really dealing with. I will be keeping you in my prayers. I know you are already in the middle of things but all this to will pass (one way or another). Blessings!

Oh, Fatherjohn and WhiteBeard, things are passing. Yes, things are passing! smhair smilewinkgrin

And I am feeling so weak and hungry! It's all I can do to avoid anything in the fridge. And I am sick of jello and juices! I want another doughnut!! rolleyes

I tried to lie down because I'm so exhausted but it only last about half an hour before I had to get up again. shakehead But it will be over soon. I did take a couple of percocets a little while ago hoping they'll help with sleep, but I'm afraid to take all of my nightly meds because I want to be able to wake up and move fast if I need to! yeah

You know, White Beard, with all the emphasis on the prep, it has completely taken my mind off possible results. I think that's a good thing as maybe there will be nothing to check out! Right now I'm too tired to care!

Thank you all, friends, and I'll be back as soon as I can. Probably in another hour if I can't stay asleep! shocked

This is the first time today I've been able to log-in, so I don't know if you'll see this before or after your testing, but I wanted you wish you well.  I hope by now, the prep is done doing its job as we know that is the worst part and I wish you sweet sedated dreams during the procedure.

I hope my intent wasn't lost in my exhuberance.

What I intended was simply that I hoped your procedure would be calm and without any issues while around it were more complicated procedures that require more rest and recuperation, and more recovery time, than does yours.

     Carrot-Ginger Soup
Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients:
2 tablespoons peanut oil
2 cups coarsely chopped onion
1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger
2 large garlic cloves, minced
8 cups vegetable stock
3 pounds carrots, peeled and sliced into 1-inch rounds
2 cups milk
Kosher salt
Freshly ground pepper
1/2 cup dry roasted peanuts, coarsely chopped

Directions:
Heat the oil in a medium stock pot. Add the onion and sauté over medium heat for 3 minutes. Add the ginger and garlic and cook about 2 minutes, until the garlic is lightly browned.
Add the stock and carrots to the sauté and simmer over medium heat for about 45 minutes, until the carrots are very tender.
Transfer the carrots and stock in batches to a food processor and purée with milk. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
Garnish each bowl of soup with chopped peanuts. Serve immediately.

Enjoy!

Thanks everyone for all your support!

I posted more details under Pete's thread since it was the first one I saw when I signed on, but thanks to all here!

I guess it's time to go back to the pain meds ritual. My good time sedation was very short lived indeed!

Hugs around!

PAlady, I hope it went well for you and all is over. We had a public holiday yesterday and I got confused with my days on Father John's post. Slightly demented I know. But I really hope you both had a successful day and everything is ok for you. Do you get the results straight away? Thinking of you, golitho.
