As you all know doc put me on a new nerve pain pill to help with the pain in my legs.  It's working great!  My pain over the last 2 days has been down to a 6.  But the downfall is this;  I have been not sleeping well for so long that now with the new meds....I still wake up in the middle of the night.  Today it was 3:30am.....yesterday I slept all night and woke up at 9:30am.

Is my body so adjusted to being awake at a certain hour that I have to find new solutions to stay asleep during the night?  What do you all think?

Okay, on another note; I was wondering if any of you think that because Michael Jackson was on pain killers if this is going to be another series of hits against all of us pain sufferers?  Let me know what you all think.

Scarred,

It sounds like you are adjusting to your new meds, give it a few more days!  Everytime I start on something new, I sleep better and longer and then after a week or so its back to my regular waking up by 4AM EVERYDAY!

I'm not sure what to think on the MJ situation and issues it may cause the CPers of the world.  Time will tell.

    Dear Scarred,

      Good Morning :-)  *huggs*

I'm afraid that after all the medicine I take, I still wake at night. Thou! No where near as much. The "waking" has decreased 80% for sure... and certianly dont wake up to a growling tummy at 3am anymore. Only sometimes now :-) I have no clue how many times I used to wake up, but now it is only  around a dozen or so. I dont think it changed after we got the medicine to it current (slightly lower) dose... I have been on my current dose for...umm..i know this..Oops, brain fart. Well a while. I only wake up a lil sore and stiff now. Oh yea, and have to wake upp about 30mins earlier because im kinda... slow? in the morning now.  :-)

Hi Scarred thats awesome news on the new medication that its helping. What is the name of the new med? I too have sorry sleeping habits, up most of the night and doze off for a couple of hours around 4:00am. My hairy legged friends have this builti n alwam that goes off at 6:00am, that says let me out so I am up for the rest of the day. No wonder I stay tired.

I am not sure either what to think yet of the Michale jackson situation. But, I have to admit all the publicity sure isn't helping things for us either.

I've always wondered about MJ. We all know he's addicted to surgeries, but we also know that with surgeries come pain meds, and everytime we seem to hear about him, he's in pain or acting like he is. I've always suspected pain med abuse from him but yet til know I've never heard anything intnews about it, but hten again I dont watch the news too much. But also I dont think it's fair that people put CPP up against people like MJ and anna Nicole, I dont know about you guys, but I dont see myself anything like them. I remember once when I was at a PM appointment and he was upping my methadone, the doctor warned me to be very careful or I can end up like Anna nicole, that made me mad, this was one of the last appointments I had with that jerk. Now please dont get me wrong, I dont think everyone that has surgeries is addicted to pain meds, but most of us try to advoid surgeries and only have them when absoutly needed, MJ had so many unneeded surgeries he was literally falling apart. I just hope he didnt die from something caused by pain meds, or that throws a red flag up for us that we dont deserve or earned.

I also have very crazy sleeping scheadules, but I've just learned to live with it. I tried Seroquel, but that knocked me out of 2 days straight with one dose, so when I go to see my doctor again on the 5th, I'm gonna ask him what other choices their is, but I will not do ambian, and lunesta never worked. But their just has to be other choices out their that arnt benzos or ambien type meds.
