I am wondering if anyone on here has been diagnosed with this? The neurobloke says it's an offshoot of either RA or AS and presents as severe bouts of pain at base of skull and in guider areas of neck following through to the shoulder blade? I go for cortico-steroid injections about once every three months or when it's unbarable. The neuro fellow says in his experience pain killers don't work. Has anybody else gt this? I promise you it's a pain in the neck! tongue tongue tongue

Yes. I have it. The pain meds did help me -- of course, they don't get rid of the pain, but they do cut it down for a little while. Ultimately, I had Radio Frequency Nerve Ablation at C1/C2, and more recently an Spinal Cord Stimulator implanted at C2.

If you can get the pain under control with meds, I would recommend that, but if not maybe you could find a pain specialist who does these other procedures & see whether they would be an option for you.

feel better,
