Whitebeard...

My hubby is on his third appointment trying to get to the bottom of his ailments.  This last doctor ran alot of tests.  Of course we knew his testosterone was low at 204 its suppose to be 300 - 1100.  Hes now back on injection but increased to two shots a month.

He has also been put on pain meds for his discomforts.  He had the test for the rhumy arthritis but it was negative.  In the end they are now leaning towards Fibromaliga.  They also put him on Amitriptyline (sp).  And will work with his meds in two months.

The next step is to deal with all his rashes to see what are causing them.

So here the update.  Now I've been lurking in the Fibro forum trying to peice it together.  He still won't fess up to the memory lapses I think he forgets that he forgets alot... turn tongue smilewinkgrin

By the way how are you doing?  I haven't seen you post much lately?????

Laurie,
I was wondering the same thing. White Beard - we know you're going through some major adjustments in addition to your health issues. Please tell us how you're coping! All your more recent posts are, of course, to help out others. :-)

LLPLUV. skeye, bluejet2,Chartreux, and of PALady,

Thank You for thinking of me! I have been trying to post some, but admittedly not as much as I normally do! I have been busy, my realtor has scheduled an open House for this afternoon, and I have been busy trying to get the house ready to show! I have had vewry little help from the other side on anything lately, since she moved out! We have been having some major disagreements about settling some things. My military SBP is a major stumbling block among other things! When I die,(I sure hope it isn't for a long time yet!)  I  just don't think she should be the one to get it! I guess in the end everything boils down to just Dollars and Cents! What a sad statement that is! And of course now that she is moved out she doesn't think she should have to pay for anything for or on the house, but she sure wants her half of everything when it sells! I am sorry for venting!  Anyway that last  epidural injection I got at C6/7,  I believe it was some where around the 11 of June, anyway I noticed on  July 4th my left arm was starting to hurt again, and now it is back to the way it was. I guess I shouldn't complain I got around 3 weeks out of it this time, that is better than the 2 days for the other one.  And  3 weeks  is about normal for me with epidural spinal injections! I will admit the increase of the Oxycontin from every 12 hours to every 8 hours has helped allot for the over all back pain, especially in the Thorasic and Lumbar area!

You know I really do appreciate all of you!  Thanks for being my Family!

White Beard,
Just remember we're here! You're going through a huge change and lots of stress, and I can't imagine that getting the house ready mostly by yourself is helping your pain any. I hope for your sake it sells fast (at least if that's what you want) so you can move on to hopefully something that you don't have to build porches for!! Somewhere you can relax!

Take care! We're thinking of you, as you can see!

Thank You! Yes I do know that You guys care! and I could never ever begin to tell you how much that means to me. I know it might sound silly, but in a way you guys really are like family to me. PALady I think you might understand what I mean, at least I have gathered that,  from what you have said ? And Yes again I do want to sell this house as soon as possible, and even though I have a good Pain Doc, I really don't want to stay in this area,  and other than that Pain Doctor, there is nothing really here, and no other  reason to stay! But  there are many reasons to leave. The big question is? Is where? Where is the place that is easiest to live with CP? Is there any such place? We all use to visit such places in our late night  magic forum trips, but is there such a place in real life? Or at least a place that would make it  easier to live with our CP, especially with neck and back pain! I really don't like Hot weather! But anymore I have a hard time with the really cold weather, especially if there is ice! As much as I would like to live closer to my GrandDaughter, that would mean moving to an even colder climate than where I live now! I should actually look at living somewhere where there is a military base, preferably an Air Force, so I could use my retirement benefits, like commissary and BX and such! I wonder if they have a pain free base! wink   You know PALady I don't want to build any more porches, I just want one to to sit on and maybe even in a Rocking Chair! Now I am rambling!
Thanks for Caring!

I will have to admit building the porch didn't sound like a good idea.  But I bet its a wonderful porch though......

The only place where I know that we can handle our CP.  That is in our fantasy community where PAlady and I will hide your garbage cans every once and awhile.... yeah

We will always be here for you but don't make yourself scarce.

Thank-You Laurie,
I will try not to be so scarce and post more. Things have been a little difficult for me lately, and although I come here often and read allot of the threads, I sometimes find it hard to post about myself, I hope this makes sense, but I find it helps me and it is easier for me to try and help others, than to try and explain and talk about my problems and pain. Not that I don't want or need to! I do, and ( as sad as this statement is) you guys are about the only ones I have that I can open up and talk to! So Thank-You for being here for Me!

Laurie,
I forgot about the garbage cans!! And whatever other pranks we were going to pull!! :-)

White Beard - Yes, I do know what you mean about this place being family. Those of us who are fairly alone...well, it's different, isn't it? I don't know what I'd do without this place, although I do have extended family around. They just don't know all of what's going on with me, especially this latest thing with Barrett's esophagus and such. They care, but they have their own lives.

Enough of my rambling. We're always here to listen and support you - and I know you do it for so many others. But never feel bad when you need to ask for support!

Or Laurie and I will really play games with your garbage cans! ;-)

It was just recent. It may have been when you were building your porch! :-)

I was having a lot of heartburn and went for an endo and colonoscopy before my insurance ran out. The colonoscopy was all clear, but the endo - not so lucky. So yes, I have to watch a lot of things now. Fun, on top of CP. Have to change my diet and take nexium 2X/day, and the worst - I can't eat 3 hours before bedtime. That one's the real challenge!! LOL But I had some mild cell changes, so I have to have a repeat endo in 6 months. Guess I'll be under "surveyllance" for awhile.

Now don't you start to worry!! Relax. Get that house sold without hurting yourself any more!

How did the open house go?

PaLady
BTW the people in the GERD section of the forum have been great & very helpful. That's another thing that makes this site so wonderful - lots of areas are covered!

Hi White Beard,

I know that you are going through a really rough time right now, but we are here anytime you need us! Everyone here feels like family to me too, even though I have a great family here at home. The thing is, no one understands like the folks here do. I think we have so much compassion & support for one another, because we've all been there (at least pain-wise) & know what everyone else is going through & how horrible it is.

I do hope that your house sells quickly & easily! I does not sound fair that your ex-wife is putting this all on your shoulders. Is there any chance of seeing your PM again soon to get another epidural, just to help you find a little relief from your pain? I know you'd love to move closer to your granddaughter, if the conditions are right. I don't envy you in this situation. I wish I had some fabulous advice, but I don't know what to say. I can only wish you the best & give you a shoulder to lean on!

I hope the open house went well this afternoon & that you aren't hurting too badly from all your house work!

hugs,
Skeye

WhiteBeard,
Colorado Springs has Peterson, AF Academy, and the really top secret base in the mountain, and Falcon..but you'd have warm and cold temps
and snow..San Antonio would probably be too hot for you, what about North Carolina??, there is an AF base there....Just some suggestions from
me...I'd stays away from Tinker AFB as you'd be in Tornado alley, we lived there and it got scary at times and very windy, plus they get black ice
in winter, so don't do Tinker....It still scares me that the AF can recall my hubby for the next 8 years, they got a lot of training in my hubby, his
security clearance is high and he went to the DLI in the Presidio and still know some Arabic and can still pick up a few things...if he'd pass one test in
San Antionio he would've gone to green beret training, one test, I'm so glad he didn't pass, that one, it was close though..Military life still haunts us, we've
been thru the worst and best of it and have been, well so glad to be out....
good luck WB Hope to see ya more often...
hugz...

Well first off my open house was a big Flop! Not one person came! Allot of work was done, but it all need to be done anyway!

PALady, I do worry about you, that is just a given! So Please take care of your self!

skeye Thank-You for your support, I do hope they find out what is wrong with your eye, or shall I say eyes now? You are a young lady that has had to experience just much pain for your years! I do wish you well and only the very best!

Chart I have been to Petterson what a beautiful base! You know I never really thought about that area! That would be a great place to live, but I would think it might be expensive, I will have to do some checking! I am afraid San Antonia would never be on my list as well as Tinker. Unfortunately so many of the bases I liked and have been stationed at are now closed! It sounds like you have seen allot in the military, how long were you guys in? I to am glad I am out! Thanks for all your support Chart!

WhiteBeard, I am sorry to just now post. I have been thinking about you and missing you too. I have seen how you always offer your support to others, that is just you!! Please know that we all feel the same way about you. You are family. We all are family.(O.k. I am having a strange moment, I am being serious and all and the song just jumped in my head" We are family, I've got all sisters and me! that is too funny. Sounds a little scarey, but I thought it would give you a giggle he he). Seriously, please allow others to be here for you. You have carried so many of us through some pretty dark moments with all your words of wisdom and the way you care for all of us!!! We want to be here and will be here for you!!!!

I am so sorry that you are getting stuck with the buden of handling all the business of saling the house. It doesn't seem fair by any means. And yes, I bet she'll be there for the closing with her hands all out for the money!!! Sorry, that was uncalled for on my part... And I don't think she should get your money after your time comes. That is a very touchy subject and very personal. But I think you should ask your attorney about the legal aspects of this. You should be free to leave your money and items with whomever you wish to. You are the one who worked so hard to have the things you do- military and nursing!!! Sorry again, but I do care for you, we all do. And I do NOT like you being mistreated by her or anyone. You are too good of a person and you don't deserve it, not for a minute.

Please post and vent when you feel the need arise. We are here for you. We will listen. And I'll try not to be too opinionated again. I am sorry!!! We want to support you and help you just as you have been here for all of us!!! You know that. So vent away!!! I hope you start to feel a little better again soon. I will be thinking about you.

All I can say is Thank-You!  I know you have had such a rough time before and after your surgery! I really do feel for you anice! Being a mother and trying to raise a family and take care of your husband and kids, and all the while trying to cope with and  manage your pain!  I think that is allot to ask of anyone,  and I am not at all sure I could do it! I admire you! I also admire all the women, and  yes, also  the men, that are not only trying to deal with and control  their horrendous pain, but then also have the daunting and seemingly never ending task of managing and raising a family with children and a spouse! The "where for all" that you all have!, Well......it just astounds me!!!!

anice, I do hope the Ten's unit helps you! And you find relief from your Pain!

WhiteBeard, Here I am concerned about you, and then you worry about me! That is just the type of person you are. But put yourself first!!! We are all concerned about you and the hard time you are going through. I admire you too. I think I can speak for all of us, when I say that. You have been going through alot dealing with your pain and with the selling of the house and all that involves. It has been weighing heavy on your mind and heart, but you have been posting to give comfort and support to others here. You finally posted on what is going on with you. You are such a caring and compassionate person. And you are thought of VERY highly by all of us. We will all be here for you, always!!!

I know there are so many places to consider moving too. I know that is a hard decision to make for you. I don't know where you live now or where you are considering. I understand wanting to move close to a base and there are so many to chose from. Anyway, there is Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier City,LA. It is a fairly good one. But I doubt you want to move to LA with all the other places you could choose from. I guess that would be about the last place you would want to move to. But I thought I would throw it out there. I know you will make the right decision. Good luck. And I do hope your house sales quickly. We all know what a nice porch it has on it!!!
