i posted a topic here earlier about switching from oxycontin to opana er.  I switched about a week ago.  I am not happy.  Way to many side effects.  Many of you said give it some time.  I just dont think I can.  I am going on vacation in a week and will be gone for another week and dont want to be uncomfortable on my trip.  Why did i ever switch.  My concern is that will my doctor switch me back to the oxycontin?  I am afraid I will go in and he will say he does not want to switch back (i feel alot of docs are trying to get their patients off of oc).  I started the opana under a week ago and just dont like at all how i feel > tired, lazy, constipated.  With the oxy I had no side effects.  Can someone tell me what i should do?  How I should talk to the dr about it.  I have a pretty stern pm doc.  I was on the oxy 3 yrs prior to the opana.  Help!  THanks.

Shaw, like I said earlier..I was on Methadone for years and years...then DX'd with Type 2 Diabetes..I thought that my medication wasn't working anymore so I switched to Morphine...that only lasted a week just like you I couldn't handle it...My Dr. was very understanding and changed me back...Please call your Dr. and explain to him what's been happening...He will have no problem changing you back...Keep us posted
