We all have ups and downs in our lives...that's what being alive is all about
. But when you do have those down times, what can someone do to encourage you?
For me something tangible doesn't do much. Gifts or going out to dinner encouraging either. The biggest thing someone can do...and this has to be that 'special someone', is to give me their time and love. When I had gone back to college I was going for a 2 year degree so I could get into the workforce and support my kids and myself. Well, when I was part way through my soon-to-be hubby posed a question to me. He said...."why NOT go the full 4 years...what's stopping you?" It was one of the few times I've been silent...lol
By then we were together and I had sold my farm, my grades were great and I had the desire. My silence was my answer and I did go ahead and finished my degree with his encouragement. Knowing he had faith in me was what gave me the confidence I needed at that time. I love him for that trait.
What encourages you when you need it? Do you have an experience from the past or is there something that someone can do to encourage you in a future endeavor?
