cry  i think ive posted recently about how much pain ive been in for the last 3 weeks. iwent to mydr., saw 1 of her pas and she did nothing except put me on a muscle relaxer. it helped me sleep, but did nothing for the pain. i have been shaking and crying every day. i have called and asked for pain meds to no avail. i even saw my pyhsc. nurse , knows my dr. she told me to call and talk directly to my dr. i tried, but they would not let me. the nurses were sympathetic, but could do nothing for me. i also have tmj and 4 nights ago i forgot to wear my mouth guard. i absolutely chewed the h_ _l out of mu tongue. todat and yesterday i couldnt speak well and my mouth hurt all the time. my mouth is FULL of blisters. the tip of my tongue still tingles. i tried to see my dr. today and of course no one could see me. i finally called my dentist office. one of the dentists squeezed me in. i explained the situation. he looked at my tongue and said i must be in a great deal of pain. i told him i was mostly there for him to document the condition of my tongue. he took pictures and was going to write a report. i plan to take it to my next drs. visit. he also prescribed a strong medicated mouth wash to use to  relieve the pain. i later went to pick up some jewelry id left to be repaired. i got so dizzy, they had to get me a chair and some water. i was afraid i was going to pass out. i just wondered if anyone else had had a similar experience biting or chewing on their tongues. i know it sounde so bizarre. but if its bizarre, its probably happened to me!

Try to find another Pain Management Doctor! cause sounds like no one is willing to help at your current pm clinic..
You can fire doctor's..seems like compassion is the missing element to these doctor's anymore...so sorry your going through
this without the help of a good pain management doctor...
Lots and lots of soft hugz...

I bite my tongue at night but because I'd grind my teeth if I didn't and I just can't
afford a mouth guard and the store bought ones don't fit me good and I've tried to get them and end up throwing it on
the floor, I hope the medicated mouth wash helps...
wish I could help you out more, magic words or things...
just hugz and vent away and keep us posted....

Cbear,

I'm sorry for all of the pain you are in... Forgive me if you've already posted this, but is that a pain management doc you went to, that would only give you muscle relaxants? Like I said, I know you've posted in the last couple of days re: being in so much pain....I just can't remember if you had seen a pain doc, or were going to one....etc.

I wish there was something more I could do to help you. I hate to hear that anyone here is enough pain to be shaking and crying. We all have flare-ups w/ our pain; believe me, a migraine or my back pain can reduce me to tears... But it sounds like your pain isn't being treated at all??? Are you on pain meds??? I think you might of said you were on Vicodin... Whatever it is, it doesn't sound like it is doing it's job.

Like I said - I wish there was something more I could do; I really hope you can find a doctor to help you; or that your pain will lessen, somehow, someway.

Hang in there; let us know how you are doing, ok?

Sorry about all that pain. I have never experience biting my tongue and inside my mouth like that. It must be horrific. I think the earlier posters gave you good advise. It certainly it time to find a more understanding Pain Management doctor who it willing to treat you with the appropriate medications.

Good luck in your search. No one should ever have to tolerate that level of pain night after night.

Please keep us posted as to what is going on.
