This ding-dang tooth/head/neck acke has me up again tonight. Sitting here reading posts I'm almost hurting to bad to write back to any and started to think about my friend, mentor and hero>>>> FatherJohn! Has anyone heard from him lately? I haven't seen any posts in a while. I know his son was leaving for the Middle East and am wondering if he took some time off to see him before he left? FJ, if you happen to see this post, I'm thinking about you buddy and keeping your family in my prayers!!
Good night everyone, I'm going in to try for some sleep again!
Night Hugz to all!

Hi, Pete,
I was thinking the same thing!! I couldn't remember if fatherjohn took some time to be with his son, or was traveling to do some presentations.

When you get a chance FJ, let us know how you're doing.

It's about to storm here so I'm going to try to get some sleep. Still have meds to take. I'm with you, Pete, especially with the tooth stuff! Like we didn't have enough on our plates!

I'm so glad you posted this!

Pete, Thanks for the thought. It has been a tough several weeks. PAlandy and Skeye, your thoughts as well as others are received with grace. The good thing that I can share is the back pain level has been down. The nerve pain is continuing as normal and I have been using the SCS more than normal or at least at a higher level.

Yes I have been on the road some and those have been long days. The demand at work never seems to let up. I am working on some funding that will allow me to hire an assistant full time but it is possible the funds will not be available until after the first of the year. Several instructors have had to take time off and that means I am teaching their classes as well as mine.

To keep this short, we are also going through a difficult family issue. I won't go into detail but it has been draining on a personal level and with work and the whole CP thing, it has left me empty by the end of the day. My son has not left for Iraq yet, in fact, he is flying home for a couple days this week. They offered him more time as we (more him) deal with this issue but he has declined and will be heading back to get his gear after a quick trip home and then he has a flight to his new 10  month home in or near Iraq. He is having to deal with some major issues as he prepares to head out. I will spend some time with him later this week while he is home as we work though this difficult time.

The other stresser was my car was broken into and everything was taken. The joys of life.

I will try and stop in as I can. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

I'm sorry that you are going through some difficult things right now; I hope that they resolve quickly... I also hope your back pain continues to remain down, and that your nerve pain decreases...

FatherJohn, I just got caught up with this thread. I want you to know that you have lots of well wishes coming your way. I am very sorry you and your family are going through a hard time right now. I do hope the situation gets resolved as it seems it is increasing your stress level. I have missed you. We all have. You be sure and take all the time needed. We'll all be here and be here for you when you return. Sorry too that you are having to take on a bigger work load. You already work so hard doing your own job. And now having to take on more, well....And your car being broken into...It all seems to be happening all at once. It always seems to happen like that, doesn't it? Sure would be nice to deal with one thing at a time, wouldn't it? Anyway, please take care of yourself. And be sure and rest when you can...I know that is easier said than done... I will be thinking about you and keeping you in my prayers.

I remember you said something to me during one of my hard times. I will always remember it...Remember how you said about how to eat an elephant? One bite at a time. That has stayed with me and I think about that often. It inpacted me in a great way. Think about that now, as you face the problem you are facing...I am sending a big hug to you now.

Fatherjohn,
I just want to echo anice's words - especially that you are missed! But I understand full well about having to take care of "life".

Anice - one thing at a time? I wonder if the universe thinks that by now we'd all be bored if all we had was one problem? Some kind of cruel joke? I, for one, would love a little boredom and I'm guessing fatherjohn and everyone else here would, too!
