Friends & Family,
Well I finally bit the bullet and got an apt for 1:00pm today after calling about 20 local dentists. None took nonpatient emergencies or my dental insurancs. After beeing up every night w/ this tooth / head acke for a week now, it's time! If I have to pay more so be it. I found this nice Lady Dentist who actually talked to me on the phone> one in 20 that did! That helped my descision. So I'm off shortly and probably will come back w/ one less tooth! I lost the same tooth on the other side last winter when it cracked in half from top to bottomus!! If this one did too, it will be the 4th one to split like that which couldn't be fixed. Last dentist said it was do to old violent injurries and they were like cracks in a windsheild that spread over time. I have a vast history of violent collissions leading w/ my head!! All the symptoms are the same> headacke, swollen glands, then tooth acke just like the others! I told my wife she may have to do like the Eskimo wives do and pre-chew my meat for me! That didn't go over very well!!! I'll check back later, gotto git!
Hugz to all my Peeps!!!
Pete

Pete,
I agree with your assessment about toofackes!!!! LOL I'll be waiting to hear how your appointment goes, although my guess is it won't all get done in one visit. I sure hope your dentist is better than mine!

   Pete!

*huggs* I am glad you are finally going to the dentist! Hopefully she will listen to you and get what you need done as quickly as possible. I like my dentists for just that reason.  I hate bothering them, I know they have alot to do... In any case, make sure you pick up some regular tea bags. If you put tea bag over the "empty socket" it heals faster.  :-)   The darker the food (or tea :-) ) the better the natural anti inflammatory agents.  :-)

*huggs*

Hi Pete,

I hope the dentist had good news for you, or at least was able to take care of that tooth pain. Toothaches are the worst!

hugs,
Skeye

Well, I spent about 2hrs at the dentist today. My tooth wasn't cracked like I thought, it was decayed badly under an old filling. It felt like the dentist was drilling for oil in there! Took out the whole thing and left the shell. Then a temp filling for two weeks to see how it does. If bad = rootcanal & crown, if OK = new filling & crown. Either way = $$$$$$!! Oh weel, guess it's better than another hole in my smile. It still hurts since the cane wore off plus my head is still hurting hence the 1:45 AM POSTING! I CAN'T SLEEP AGAIN> UGGG! Thanks for your posts PA, Dani & Skeye my 3 Guardian Angels! You 3 rock! What would I do W/O you?????
Much Love and Thanks>
Big Giant Group Hugs all around!

Oh, Pete, I sure hope it turns out to be ok, and you "only" need a filling and crown! And I sure understand the $$ part.

I made a call to my periodontist today (the one dentist so far who's always at least been effective in his work with me - had major gum surgery in 1994 - bit OUCH ) and his assistant talked to me for quite awhile. He won't be back in the office until Thursday, but she's going to talk with him. She also told me which endodontist he recommends and I left a message with that endo. to schedule a second opinion for ASAP. Course that will cost $70 because he wants to do his own X-ray, which actually is ok with me because this way my main dentist won't know anything about it. Then I'll see what I'm told. Even though there have been very minute improvements, they come and go, and I'm still not chewing on that side at all - even soft stuff.

So I hope your pain eases a bit by morning Pete!

Ice. Ice. Ice. That's what I always use!

Hugs,

Thanks for the advice PA!! Yep, we are quite a pair of old turkey's ain't we? I'm glad you are going to see someone else and not that turd of a dentist you had! Hopefully he'll get you all fixed up and get rid of that dang toofacke!! You have had this going on for quite a while now, twice as long as me and you still sound in good spirits! Don't know how you do it? I'm such a cranky old SOB when my toofs act up> I hate the headacke that just pounds away and will not quit!
Well, I have to be up at 6:00am, a couple hours from now for the final inspection of our new barn. I know there are issues that will need attention and the dang thing was so expensive, I'm gonna make sure every detail Momma wants done>> Momma is gonna get!! I was in construction a long time and know how the game is played! You can't snow the snowman if you know what I mean! So I better go back to bed and hope for their (the builders) sake I don't wake up w/ this headacke again or there will be hell to pay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good night and sweet dreams of icecream sundays and NO TOOF pains!!!
Your Bud,
Pete
PS> My kids used to call them their toofs when they were young incase you wondered but you probably figured that out! Have you seen the Toof Fairy lately?
