This week has blown by me, probably because I've been busy. But today is my granddaughter's first birthday so being a good grandma I am baking and decorating her a special cake. My daughter chose a very different name but I think it's beautiful...it's Tianna which means Princess. Her daddy treats her like one but it looks as if she's going to be all tomboy...lol

I do love names that are just a bit different but....some people get carried away and stick their baby with an awful name. A friend of mine named one child Cedar and the sibling Star. A bit different but I think Cedar might give the child some teasing problems through her school years. My other daughter told me recently about a mom who is a client where she worked....receiving social services. She has twin girls and at birth they were Baby A and Baby B. Since they were premature she hadn't picked out names yet. So, when it came time to fill out their paperwork, for Baby A she chose the name Apple and for Baby B she chose Blueberry. OK, that's just wrong...IMHO. Alright, funny too, but that poor child! eyes

What awful child name have you heard someone give their baby?

I love unusual names...... if I had children my husband and I would have named our child Blaze for a boy and Blaize for a girl.... oh well that didn't happen....

I think the most unusual name I have ever heard was from the actor... Jason Lee... he named his son: Pilot Inspektor

My friend had two boys just 11 months apart.....oops.  One she named Raven and the other she named Terryn.  They were a handful so we called them Raven lunatic and Terryn up the place.  She had a daughter named Jenny.  Go figure.

I love kids names.  It is so interesting what people will do with that.  It is the first gift you ever give a child and one that usually stays with them for their entire lives.  I took it very seriously.  I loved names like Abraham and Tobias.  But I stuck with classics: James and Edward.

I was named Gretchen well before I was born despite my parents not knowing I was a girl....they were hoping as I have an older brother.  My mom was sick (barf) the entire time she was pregnant with me.  My dad knicknamed me wretchin gretchen before I was born and my mom said it almost ruined the name.

I love unusual names. We named my daughter Kendalyn. I love it and it suits her too. She is quiet a girl!!! It was going to be Kendall. We were thinking of a middle name. I wanted Paige. Husband wanted Lynn. Then he said it "Kendall Lynn". And then he put it together. So her name is Kendalyn Paige.

I work in pediatrics. So I hear some good ones!!! At the moment I am drawing a blank. So I am going to think real hard about this and come back to it, hopefully.
