Gretchen, good to see you. I enjoyed your pictures of your son and horse also. You look like a very natural person, not made up to look like something your not and that makes you beautiful. Your personality comes out as someone I would get along with well.

I have two boys....do they look a like or is one cuter than the other?  Hahahaha.  Teddy, the one with the watermelon (we waited until the last minute and there were not good pumpkings left) was a very very VERY ugly baby.  He gets teased about that all the time.  He is a cutie now.  Jim, my first born was pretty from day one.  Jimmy is my good boy who is an average student.  Teddy is my straight A student who is NAUGHTY!  I am very proud of them.

I will post pics of the snakes!  I also have stick bugs and madagascar hissing cockroaches.  Both insects make very cool pets!

So I hollered back at you and went into this diatribe only to realize I had been speaking with Teddy (I think). LOL

Hey I just rescued a tarantula!  But alas....I think it is past saving.  It is really hot today and this guy looks pretty cooked.  I have brought him inside so he can cool off and I have given him so water.  So far he looks pretty all out though.  about this time of year, the male tarantulas wander all over looking for love.  This guy is just a bit early!  He needed to wait another few weeks when it is cooler.

If he survives, I will feed him up a bit and then let him go.  I will sing "born free' with tears of goodbye.  LOL.

Hi Gretchen

I finally get to see you! Great Pictures! You said you had your horse 17 years, WOW, how old do they normally live to? Do you have to board him at some stable or do you live on a farm where you can keep him! Oh yes by the way I think I would pass on the spiders, I can handle the snakes, but I am not fond of bugs and spiders just plain creep me out!

I board the horse at a nearby stables.  He is 20 years old.  I got him when he was three and broke him myself.  He is a doll!!!  He is a very good boy.

Well, bad news.  My sun stroke tarantula has passed....sniff.  I tried!  I did get three really cool Madascar Hissing cockraches though!  I will post pictures later.

Gretchen, after reading your thread, I finally decided to figure out how to post a few pictures. The horse looks like he loves his owner.

Hissing Cockroaches! One of our labs at school keeps those! I guess it's a good thing that I didn't work in that lab, otherwise I might have come home with some cockroaches instead of snakes! I don't think my parents would be too pleased. smilewinkgrin They actually really like the one snake I have left though (as long as they don't have to feed him). He's a real doll (for a snake), everyone loves him.

Sorry that your little arachnid buddy didn't make it! At least you gave him a second chance! That's more than most!

I would have done to that arachnid like Garfield does in the comics, with the rolled up new paper to the spiders! Flattens them right out! yeah

Ok everyone, go look!  I have added my secret picture of PAlady.  Her picture is in my album.  I know she doesn't want her picture posted but I can't resist.  I talked her into fishing with me!  Check out the trout she snagged!!!  (heeheehee   wink )

I'm not a big fan of cockroaches & most insects, and especially spiders, but I did have to comment! :-)

Fatherjohn - Great pics! I loved the one of you & Sarah on the horses. That was a very special moment for you both, indeed. She's beaming! And gee the scenery in that first picture looks familiar! smilewinkgrin

Ah I found one more!  It is a better picture; it shows much more of PAlady.  I know you are all so curious as to what she looks like.

You didn't know we were such good friends did you!?

She did clean that fish....then we ate it!  She is quite the outdoorwoman.  Remind me to tell you about the time we went moose hunting!!!!

MMMNAVY, yes you spoke with teddy!!!  I am sorry I missed you!  I am going to try again soon.

Chart, yes Nick is an appaloosa.  They are known for being very tough and stubborn.  Nick and I have worked out who the leader is and we get along just great!  Actually he is incredibly bonded to me.  When I get to the stables, he is nickering for me the second I am out of the car.

PAlady, ALL spiders are venomous (poisonous is something you ingest......do you really eat spiders?) MOST spiders are harmless to people.

Skeye, hissing cockroaches make FABULOUS pets.  They are completely harmless and completely fascinating.

Everyone else, thanks for posting!  This has been a hoot!
