I really feel like kicking someone's butt right now. Mainly it is the idiots at the financial aid office where my wife is going to school.

She almost through her 3rd week of classes at school this semester and still has not received her "refund" check from the school. (This is the difference between her dues/fees and her award money). She called the financial aid department yesterday to see when they were going to be sending them out since we need to money to pay for some of the supplies she needs for this semester not to mention the extra gas it takes for her to make the 30 miles round trip every day. Well she was informed that there was some kind of discrepancy in her account. One data base shows her taking 16 hours and another shows her taking 15 hours and because of this they have to go into the system and review it by hand. Until that is done, which may take 3 more weeks, they can't issue her any checks.

Give me a break. Either way she is a full time student, so that 1 hour is not going to effect her award amount any, so why can't they issue her a check based on the 16 course hours and then issue a 2nd check if it is found out later she really only has 15.

From the sound of things there are a lot of issues with course hours this year and they are reviewing each and every one. Don't these idiots realize that many of these students need that "refund" money to pay for things like food and rent.

I will be so glad when she is done with her schooling though. 2 1/2 more years and she should be graduating with a BSN. Then at least this type of BS will be over with and we can dive into the new BS of her working as an RN.

Hey it's nice to know your wife is in college, it can be rough. to says the least,
our daughter is going on a full ride and supposed to get money for books, yet we've not received the
letter instructing us on how to get the refund yet or anything, so my suggestion would be to call the school
and try to get your answers...
At least the books are covered, but as my daughter is trying to be a music major, the sheet music is a whole
new money game, one piece that she wants is $90. then the instrument repairs or fixing does take it's
so rant away you have my empathies and I hope you get the refunds soon...

   Dear Jim 1969,
Good morning! *huggs* I am sorry you are having issues with the FA office.  The folks in the Financial Aide offices ( here at any rate) act like they are volunteers! smhair or worse, forced community service. Sheesh. I find myself often saying
~~>" I am by no means, independantly wealthy. I need another option."   shakehead
I hope you are doing well thou! And hope you have a low pain day.
