Hi again and thanks for the many replys and suggestions. Senior center...hmmm I have been told that senior is 55 plus, if I can get in a senior group, where the heck is my senior discounts everywhere else?? lolol I will look into that though. I have always had a deep respect for our seniors, thinking of all they know that the younger generation will not because they do not want to "hang out" with them. Do you know that knittng is a dying art? How sad. And does anyone under 40 make quilts? By hand? Good gosh...I am getting older. I mention names like Richard Burton or groups like Blondie and get blank stares. ha ha...guess I am gettng up there.
I do go to church but usually stay in the back so I can sit or stand as comfort allows me and usually leave at the closing, so I haven't really met anyone there. I was thinking of singles, group gatherings, etc, but really do not know where to look. I can't really spend much time navagating around the internet, too much sitting.
It is funny, in California, you can meet people on the street, a hi in passing can turn into a friendship. Here in Illinois, if you say hi to someone, they scurry away as though you are trying to rob them. " Yes...run run, I intend to trip you with my walker and clobber you with my ice pack, force your phone number from you and call you day and night with invites....aarrr"
So what do we do in the winter months here? Last year I tried out some ice fishing. The good thing about the cold weather is you don't need ice packs, you can just go lay in the snow.
So, any one here from the Joliet Illinois area? Want to walk off our stiffness?
