I had an u/s last week of my abdomen since I  have this left side pain. The only thing noted was "non-shadowing, non-movable echoes on the anterior wall of the gall bladder" impression- probable gall bladder polyps. They said these could not cause the pain (it will come on and feel like I ran a lot, like a stitch in my side). But my worry is, should the gall bladder be removed because of the polyps? Or, could the "non-shadowing, non-movable echoes" be something other than polyps? An u/s a couple years ago, did NOT show these on the gall bladder. I have had the HIDA scan, a couple years ago, and it was 50%. I also had a gastric diveritculum stapled off in Aug 07, and have had numerous CT Scans, like 2 or 3 in a weeks time, so I really do not want anymore.
Thanks,

I'd talk with your doctor more about your concerns.

Thanks to you both. I am sorry to post something like this. I guess I am just confused on all the terminology and things in the report.
Thanks,

Meg,
Welcome to the chronic pain forum of Healing Well. Like others have said, we can offer support, but we aren't doctors either, so the terminology often confuses us. You can do some research sometimes on credible sites like webmd, or sites connected with major hospitals like the Cleveland Clinic or Johns Hopkins, but even then you probably won't be able to understand the terminology completely.

I would suggest making a list of your questions and an appointmemt with your doctor and politely ask to have him/her explain it to you so you understand. Sometimes you can call the office and speak to a nurse, and then can help. It all depends on your how your doctor's office is set up, and whether the nurse can answer what you're asking.

It is OK that you posted your question, if I'd had issues with this problem I may have made suggestions but would have still suggested you speak with your doctor. Now ask me about back issues and I could write a book lol. Keep us updated about what the doctor has to say. Welcome and hope your doctor can give you the information you deserve.

Thanks all. The doc did not address the pain, because my labs were fine. And he wants to watch the gallbladder. I even got an attack in the office and he thoght it was from pressing on my stomach.
Thanks,

   Dear Meg,

Good evening *huggs* I do not know if I have introduced myself yet, but, my name is Dani. It is very nice to meet you :-)

I do not know much about medical conditions. Im sorry. I wish I could give you some sort of input. Even with my own medical issues, I still come here for clarifications, because, well... Half of what is told to me sound like German and the other half sounds like a polite version of "we are not positive at this time.". *sigh* What we need are interpraters or advocates to put all this "medical jargen" into "english". But *warm huggs* What ever is going on, doesnt sound good, and in fact sounds like a horrible place to have such sharp pains.

My heart aches when I read ~~> I even got an attack in the office and he thoght it was from pressing on my stomach.  I remember when I first began seeking "help" for my problems and was unable to get any. All I can tell you is document the changes the best you can. work with what you have. Even if your current doctor cannot pin point an answer, someone, somewhere, will eventually be able to put all the peices of the puzzle together. Just gotta stay strong as possible til that time comes. *warm huggs*

CCL had a great suggestion. It really helps when someone else is with you. But, be prepared for the "care center" or "hospital" to want a signed release of information to have them present with you. I have to re sign documents every year just so doctors, staff, HR, Insurance, husband can all communicate. Crazyness *sigh* but, better than the alternative. Besides, when I hear "we are not positive at this time", my thoughts wonder off and I think about my medical past. It isnt that I intentionally dont hear, its just sometimes I miss some things that are said.

It really is VERY nice to meet you. I am very glad you came to the Healing Well Forums *warm huggs*
