Char,
It does sound like they at least suspect swine flu. Are you sure it's a good idea to go up there? It's possible they may not even let you see her, let alone if she's in quarrentine, you'd be walking into a room full of others in like situation. Many colleges are setting aside a dorm or a section of one for students who become ill. I would be sure to call the college's health service and ask what their recommendation is before making the trip up. The early stages are highly contagious, but it could be better to wait and go see her after she's passed that stage.

Again, remember they may not even let you in if it's a quarrantined dorm, as they're trying to keep it all contained. If you're exposed and then leave the area, you may not only get sick yourself, but spread the germs.

I'm so sorry she got sick, but also it seems it's going to happen to a lot of college students this year!

Hugs,

PaLady

Aw, Char, I hope she's okay!! It's no fun being sick away from home! Bring her lots of soup & gatorade!
They are quarantining people up here too or sending them home if they live within 4 hrs of the college. I don't know where they are going to keep the quarantined people. If you have a single then you can stay in your room, but if not they say that "other arrangements" will be made. Sounds like this is going to be a bad year for the flu.
Hugs for you & your daughter! I hope the trip isn't too rough on you!! ((((((Char))))))).

They tested her and said no it was not the swine flu, so finger's crossed...

I'm really thinking it's a cold..and that she's exhausted from this weekend, cowboys game, she played at
that and had to stay for the whole game and it went late...

Thanks,

Prayers are always welcomed...

Hi Char:

You, your daughter, & family will be in my thoughts & prayers.

My son is away at college too, and I know that the flu is a huge concern on campus. There have only been about 50 reported cases at his school of over 7,500 students, but a college 1/2 hour away has over 500 cases.

I know if it was my son, wild horses couldn't keep me away, but please take every precaution not to get sick yourself - you have enough to deal with already.

Please update us when you can.

I wanted to say thanks so much for the prayers and well wishes, our daughter is doing a whole lot better,
is out of isolation and back in her dorm room, has plenty of liquids for the week...
but the trip was very hard on me and my pain levels are up and I just didn't want to get
out of bed today...I'm still very very sore from the RFA procedure and injections and I'm going to
have to get a EMG Testing done soon...When my neurologists schedules it....

Char,
I am so glad everything with your daughter is improving. I hope you didn't take my earlier post wrong - I'm very glad it wasn't the swine flu, and that she's getting better.

Like others have said, now it's time for TLC for Chartreux!

Char, It is indeed good to hear that your daughter is back in her dorm and recovering. I just had to write the policy for our residential centers in case there is a case of swine flu in one of the centers. I can't imagine having to deal with the possibilities at a large university. It sounds like you are due a rest and a little time as well. I am sure your daughter appreciated your sacrifice and care. Blessings

Hi Char!

I'm glad to hear your daughter came thru her illness but no matter how old our children get they are always our 'babies'. And when they get sick it's so hard on us....even if we didn't have fibro.

Please pamper yourself and take all the rest time you need. You are more than worth it!
