Remember a few weeks ago I joined because I had OA in my lower back and it had seemed to have gotten worse? Well, I found a solution to the severe pains I had due to a calcium deficenty. I still have the OA, but it hurts a fraction of amount I was suffering.
Now, I've got something weird going on with my hip. confused

One night, a few weeks ago, I fell asleep with a pair of nail clippers in my pajamas' pants pocket. I slept all night on the clippers and woke the next day with a cramp in my hip. The pain lasted for about two days. Now, here's the weird part, every once and awhile the pain comes back just like it was when I slept on the clippers. confused
Has anybody ever heard of such a thing?

maybe you have a pinched nerve? just a thought. if it keeps bothering you maybe get it checked out. if it's nothing serious, you might try an OTC like aspercreme (but I know you have other health issues, so even though it's only a topical probably a good idea to check with your doc first).

feel better,

Yep, I know what you mean. All it takes is to irritate a nerve and if you provoke it too much it's going to rebel for quite a while. I sure wish you weren't hurting and it's twice as painful when it's something silly. I set my sewing machine on the floor a few days ago, then walked by later and kicked it so hard...accidentally, in case anyone was interested...lol...that deep under my second to nail is still purple.

Have you ever heard of Bell's Palsy? It's when the nerves that come through a tiny channel in your skull near the base of your ear get pinched for some reason...and the nerves on that side of your face go totally numb. Had that several summers ago. The nerve was irritated/pinched and it can last from a few day to a few months to a lifetime. Luckily mine was 3-4 months. Talk about a nerve getting back at you and for no apparent reason.

One of my bad habits is sitting in a chair with one leg bent and the foot under me....BAD idea. Then try to use your leg...lol I know this isn't funny because you are hurting and I'm not laughing at that one bit...just trying to relate some other similar things to what you did. Yes, it sure sounds silly...Doc, I'm in horrid pain because I slept on the nail clippers....but it's true.

I have a solution, Joy. Tell your sweetie what happened. Then explain that you will have to have a manicure and full pedicure from now on to aprevent this from happening again. No more nail clippers for Joy.

I AM sorry you are hurting. Might also try some heat on it, especially at bed time. Just be careful with any heating pads at night...K?

Warm hugs and rest those little nerve endings,
Chutzie

Never had an ongoing issue like you are experiencing but when my kids were younger I took them roller skating. I was doing fine on skates (it had been along time) until I tried to stop next thing I knew I was down hard on my bottom. A few days later I was having a very tender spot on one cheek and when I looked I had a bruise the exact shape of the chapstick I always kept in my back pocket. Ouch!!

Hope your pain goes away soon. You must be sensitive like the princess & the pea.

Thanks, guys!
Sorry, Chutzie, no sweetie to clip my toes. :(
What happened was... I was getting ready for bed and my niece handed me my clippers she had borrowed. My hands were full at the time so I had her drop them in my pj pocket. By the time I went back to my room I'd forgotten I had them in my pocket and crawled into bed.
I found them the next morning. :(

Jag- I'm very sensitive about my bed. I've gone through 3 mattresses over the last 10 years. Once I start feeling the springs I'm miserible until I replace it.

I got one of the down alternative ( didn't want feathers poking me) mattress covers for my bed when JCPenney had them on sale. Love it. I'd gotten a cheaper one earlier and wasn't worth the money. Buy a good one when the sales are going on.
