Dear friends & family,
I'm finally back home again after a long trip to bring my Mom back down to Fla. for the winter. It has been a long and painfull trip for me in which I beat myself up getting Mom's summer house closed up for winter and driving her and her cats & plants back to her condo in S.E. Fla. and tucking them in there for the winter. We got out of there in the nick of time as it snowed 6" the day after we left! We tried to bring the cold down here with us but it couldn't keep up w/ me driving so fast and got here today,a day late. To bad as it was awful hot unloading Mom's car and then loading my truck w/ furniture from my S.E. unsold house to bring back up to our little farm in N.W. Fla. I arived back here last night and am dreading unloading the truck this a.m. in the condition I'm in! Like a big dumbie, I fell down 3 times while trout fishing my favorite stream up north and my back, neck, and big fat butt are just killing me. At one point I was about a mile back in the woods from the closest road and ran into a huge black bear crossing the stream! I thought to myself as I tried to get my camera out of my pocket, maybe he will come over here and eat me and put me out of my missery? But he just walked up into a beutiful hemlock forest and paid no attention to me. After my last trip up north, I said it was worth all the pain, but I didn't fall once on that trip. I made a big mistake trying to be young again and am now paying the price for it. Those of you who know me must be getting pretty tired of hearing about me hurting myself over and over again and I'm truely sorry for once again letting you all down. I'm just a beat-up old hasbeen yearning for what I once was! Oh. I did catch some trout flyfishing though while others I ran into fishing w/ bait caught nothing! I'll try to catch up w/ all Y'all later. I have to go now.
Peace and Love to all my dear friends> I've been thinking about y'all alot!!!

When I was young, I broke almost evry bone in my body and I'm paying a heavy price now but I'm still here and so glad to see my two sons grow up to be fine young men. They are both serving in the US Navy, My oldest is serving on a aircraft carrier but is currently in advance radar school. The other is a Asault Ship "The Jaws of the Fleet" somewhere in the Persian Gulf w/ 2,000 Marines aboard. Welcome back Pete!! I admit its a little after 6:00 am my time in Tx and  I have been up all night-so I am a little rummy lol. I must admit reading your post gave me a laugh. It was almost like reading something out of a comic book lol. Black bear and all. Glad you are home safe and sound. Give yourself some time to rest up. I have an idea for you, something that may help you. Try soaking in a hot bath wth apple cider vinegar. Very good for muscular things.  about two cups in a tub of water. I know its a pain carting your Mom back and forth, just be greatful she is alive and able to care for herself.

I fell a week ago and broke my left arm. Nowing waiting on the swelling to go down so a caste can be put on it. that was a pain.

Take it easy a day and be kind to your body, its the only one you will ever have.

Welcome home, Pete!

What can I say? You pulled a Pete again X2, X3? X4???? LOL

The Black Bear - yikes! Did you get a picture? So glad the bear didn't get you!

Now do as Susie says...

BTW, Susie, I saw that apple cider vinegar thing on the other thread, and it's the first I've heard of that. Where did you get that one?

Hugs, Pete!

Susie,
I'm so sorry to hear about your arm, geeze and I was complaining about my silly falls in the river! I hope the doc gets you fixed up w/ a cast soon when the swelling goes down and it stops hurting you so much! I'll go check out your post and see what happened as soon as I'm finished here.
Chart, thanks for the welcome & hugz! It's nice to come home to and hear from friends so quickly! Your the best, sending a big warm fuzzy hug right back atcha!!!!
PA> what can I say? Yes, I did manage to get my little flip video camera out but only in time to catch the BIG bear walking away into the woods. The nice thing about video is the sound of me out there in the middle of nowhere telling my family that if the bear eats me, I probably deserve it and it's a fitting way for me to go! LOL!! It's probably a good thing that I let all the trout I caught go and didn't have any with me! Things might have turned out differently if he had smelled fresh fish!!
Hope Y'all have a nice pain free Sunday and all your College & NFL teams did or will do good today!
God Bless America!
Your buddy,
Pete
