Hi, Cstan327,
Welcome to the chronic pain forum of Healing Well. I'm not sure I'm the best one to offer you any suggestions, but the things you listed in your poll look worthwhile to try. I don't know if any of them help or hurt more with Crohn's because I don't have it, but what has your doctor suggested? I would think the things in your poll would be fine, just to use what helps, but what I think may be wrong. Someone may be along who has Crohn's here who can help you out more, but there's also a Crohn's forum that's part of Healing Well. You may want to post there and it's easy to get to. Just use the Quick Jump menu right above where the posts are listed. You can post here and to Crohn's, but I wonder if you'll get better help there.

I'm glad you found us. Again, welcome.

Welcome to the forum cstan!! I'm sorry to hear you are having such issues at your age. I also have to suggestions but hopefully with your doctors help you can find some answers. Has your doctor suggested a Pain Management doctor for you? Maybe with the two working together they can come up with a proper way to treat your Chrons and your pain from it. Good Luck and sorry I couldn't be more help.

I don't have Chron's, but when I'm feeling nauseous, I have 3 non-medical ways to try to combat it. 1 is ginger ale or gatorade, a few saltine crackers every now and then, and laying/sitting down in a cool room with my eyes closed taking deep breaths. I don't know if that applies to you, but it's always been helpful for me.

I just wanted to chime in and welcome you to healingwell. You are so young! I think it should be against nature that young people feel pain!

I don't have your dx but I like the idea of sitting in a cool room. I chose to do that alot just to try and control pain.

Please keep us updated on your condition

Hi CStan and welcome to Healing Well. I am so glad you found us, but hate to hear you are having such a terrible time.

I too have crohns and understand many of your issues. Unless I totally missed it and its possible, did you list what meds you are taking?

It sounds like you are having alot of cramping going on, but I am guessing on that. I tale a medication called Bentyl for cramping and it really helps, but your dr must write a script for it. Ginger Ale is good for an upset stomach and I know alot of people use a heating pad on their tummmy's.

As PaLady pointed out we have a crohns forum here that is just awesome. When I was first dx'd I found this place by accident. I learned so much from that group over there.

Please keep us posted on how you are doing.
