I was walking in the park...this park has huge oak trees. The kind with limbs at big as a car and they are horizontal low to the ground. Across the lawns I see two beautiful Golden Retrievers bouncing along playing with each other and their owner too. They just came past the rose garden and are headed this way. The person looks familiar and I think they recognize me. Oh, it's ____________

a woman I went to High School with! I haven't seen her in decades, but she looks almost the same! She waived as she walked toward me, and the dogs came bouncing along. Her name is Louise and we were in English class together, and also both cheerleaders. She came right over and hugged me and I was surprised to find myself hugging her back. She took my hand and pointed across the way to what looked like clothelines hanging between some of the trees and as we got closer I saw there were two hammocks, supported by those strong oak branches.

It was a spectacular fall day, with all the leaves at peak, the sun keeping us warm and only the hint of a breeze. We laughed and did our best to run toward the hammocks, but we weren't that young so it was more of a brisk walk. I hadn't been in a hammock in years. We each settled into one, and...

our high school alma mater, oh the joy of innocent memories, life had been good to us.  Sure we had a few regrets but we both agreed if we could go back we probably would have done everything just the same.  Just then we heard a car toot its horn, the driver waving frantically.  Its Ellen we screamed in delight, we jumped off the swings and ran to meet her, within moments we were hugging, laughing and crying all at the same time.

What a glorious day, blue skies, clouds full and fluffy and now 3 friends reunited....

Ellen had been driving by on her way to the drugstore and couldn't believe her eyes when she saw the two of us. She hadn't been a cheerleader but had played the trumpet in our high school band and was also on the year book committee. Practically everyday during summer break we would all meet at the community swimming pool with our transistor radio playing Casey Casems top 40 hits, our favorite song of the time was "Sugar" by the Archies. We didn't go to the pool so much to swim but to giggle and squeal everytime the boys did a cannonball off the diving boards trying their best to spash us...
