Pete, yes indeed keep us informed of you new construction company and how you are doing. Now that your mother is moving on site, how much more yoom do you have. I don't need much room, maybe I can move my shed all the way there. Just kidding. I can just imagine those evenings watching the horses and the sun going down. I will write more later.

Chart, You are so sweet to think about lil old me! I'm fine, all beat up but fine. My mind is in a good place! As far as the barn electric goes, I'm almost finished! I had to stop for a couple days to work on Social Security Dissability paperwork. It seems like I get new forms every other day! They have me scheduled to go see a shrink on Nov. 23. I'm not sure what thats all about yet? The barn lights look really great! All the inside lights are up, two lights w/ globes and cages w/ 100watt equal fluorecent lamps in each one are in each of the 2 stalls w/ seperate switches for each stall. There are also outlets up on the top of the stall walls for some big fans. The breezeway has flood lights on each side and the tack / feed room has a 8' quad fluoresent and a fan box for a large paddle fan. All circuits are GFI protected and switches, recepticles and all junction boxes are weatherproof! I hooked it up to my 30amp generator the other day while my wife was feeding the ponies backfeeding a breaker in the panel box and flipped on the switches. EVERYTHING WORKED!!!!! She smiled and ran over to me and gave me a big kiss and thanked me! That made every pain (lots) I went through worth it!!! I felt some self worth, like a man again! Whats left is outside flood lights on either side of the barn and I have to finnish digging a ditch back to the house, lay the power wire and hook her up! I'm waiting for the phone and electric co. guys to come mark where the underground wires are so I don't dig them up! Then I may go rent a trencher since I came in WAY under budget! I spent about $250.00 on all the material and that included a 8' ladder, of course I got most of the material for free!! The electrician my wife was going to hire wanted $1,500 and wasn't going to put everything in W/P boxes & covers! It also only included the wiring w/ no fixtures and no subpanel in the barn!!! She got a 10 times better job using Pete's electric!!! I just knew I could do it!!!
We went looking at double wide manufactured homes for my Mom last Sunday. Found some nice ones for under $60K w/ everything> turnkey and will take about a month after she sighns the papers! She is coming up w/ me after my next Dr. apt. in early Nov. to look at them. We are hoping to have her here before Christmas! Unfortunately, my two boys can't get here for Christmas but will both be here in early Jan. and will have about a week and a half together. They haven't seen each other since last Christmas and they are VERY close! I told them we can have Christmas wen they get here because it won't be Christmas w/o them anyway!!
So Chart, 5 or 6 Dr. apts?? Whats up w/ that??? When is your B-day??? As you can see FJ poked his nose in to say hello!! FJ, whats up? Sorry I haven't called you, I'm definitely going to call before this weekend if thats ok or are weekends better?
Well thats all about Pete for now. I still have nore paperwork to finnish for SSD and I got up at 3:30am so I better get to it so I can go work on something else outside when the sun comes up!!! Chart, thanks again for caring and posting even w/ all your problems! You are definitly an ANGEL!!!
Much Love and Big Hugs!!!
Pete

   Dear Pete,

Good morning!! *warm huggs* I hope you are doing okay this morning? Is all of your paper works done? You sure have alot of paper work to do for those folks, maybe you should send blood and DNA samples this time.... With a quick note says "can't fit kitchen sink in envelope". hehe, kidding!!! *huggs*

The barn sounds georgous, BTW! You should take some pictures when it is all done! I would love to see it! Sounds like you literally thought of everything, and how awesome you were able to do it while saving so much money!

I should probably stop chatting away! But before I forget, how is your friend doing? Is he settled into your other house? I hope he too, is okay. I know you mentioned he was having a hard time of things

Okay, this time I really do need to get going, im procrastinating!!

*warm huggs*

Thanks Dani,
No I'm still sitting here at the keyboard writing my lifes employment story for these SSD folks. I'm just taking a break to see what happening here on H.W. It's a beutiful day outside and I'm dreading being in here but I've got to "git er done"!!
My friend Jack is still sick and living at my house down south. I just recieved 3 notices from the neiborhood ****'s (home owners assoc.) telling me my lawn is dying> I asked Jack to keep it watered, there is a underground sprinkler system, all he has to do is turn it on> I guess he's to sick and hasn't been doing it! The other is for parking on the lawn??? I don't understand that one? There's a drive way and he only has one car?? Ald the last one was for the green stuff that grows on the vinel siding in Fla. I've asked him to keep after it, all he has to do is spray bleach on it with a sprayer I left him and then hose it off! I guess he's too sick for that too! The guy is just totally depressed, not physically sick although I'm sure he feels that way. I just don't know what to do for him? I can't just drop everything I have going on here and go stay with him, I see him once a month for a couple days and he's good while I'm there. He was never a lazy guy so it's not like he's taking advantage of me on porpose. He has no real family except his inlaws from his wife that died who really have just dumped him out of their lives. I just feel so bad for him! We talk on the phone daily and it's always> I'm so sick, I'm dying, I don't know what to do!!! The shrink he saw last week said he was fine and to get a job! His doctors also say he's fine since he quit drinking and smoking! His BP is back to normal w/ meds. I'm lost, any suggestions???
Big Hugs for my Angels> Dani & Chart!!!>>> You to FJ!!

Pete,
First, although I don't understand all the electric lingo, I love the fact you and your wife are now closer and seem to be doing 1,000% better than just a short time ago! And did I read something about needing a porch next? Uh-oh - best not let White Beard get any ideas! LOL Sure wish I could corral all you guys to come work on my house!!!

Now about your friend. Pete, I know it's hard to hear but I think the best thing you can do for him is some tough love. It sounds like he's getting into a real rut, and maybe a routine that you don't even know about. Who's parking on the lawn??? I'll bet he's having a few "guests" over. Do you have a neighbor you could trust to maybe take some photos? I know it sounds creepy, but I think this guy could be using you - maybe it didn't start out that way, but it's way too easy for him right now. He's obviously got some resources for therapy, and needs to use them all. Getting a job would probably help him, even a part time one, but it doesn't sound to me like he's going to do it anytime soon unless he's forced to. So, dear Pete, I think you need to give him a deadline. You have a legitimate excuse - you have to get the property ready to sell, and I would be very honest with him that the property is deteriorating and he's not doing his part to keep it up. I'd tell him neighbors are complaining without mentioning any names. Give him a deadline - like a month - that he needs to be out, unless he gets a job and starts paying you rent (enough to pay the mortgage) AND keeps the place up to the association's standards. You aren't doing him any favors by letting him stay in this state.

I know this will be hard for you, but you asked how to help. I don't think he's left you much choice.

Hugs,

PaLady

Pete,
I have to agree with PALady, on giving your friend a deadline and getting a neighbor to watch him so
that your house is not being trashed..Just tell him you need the money and have to put it up for sale by
January 15 or so..You've given him a lot and I do think he has taken some advantage of you....
him getting a job sounds like a good idea, it might help, you might also say you go for at least one job interview a day..
just my 2 cents on that so wish I knew what to tell ya.....
I'm glad your barn is almost done, wow electric work is hard, my Dad's a retired electrical engineer, so
I know about the gfci stuff ect..water proofing it....but fishing the wire down the wall has to be the hardest part...
Sure Hope you enjoy this weekend..
My b-day is Monday the 2nd...
Well Wishes to ya, and lots of soft hugz..
and keep us posted okay...

Pete,

The barn sounds fantastic (want to build one for me when I get my own house some day smilewinkgrin)! You should be very proud of all the hardwork you put into it! From what you described in your reply to my thread, your setup sounds absolutely beautiful. Actually, it sounds like heaven to me! I'm sure that before you know it, you & your wife's horses will be great friends! And bring them treats & you'll become buddies even faster :-)! Horses are such intelligent creatures. I bet your guys love their new home! Now they can romp around all they want (and you get to watch them!). What more could you ask for?
So what's next? A riding arena? smilewinkgrin You've got to be careful, now that you have put so much time & effort into the barn, your wife might not want you to stop! Retiring might not be so easy wink (you sure have been busy since you retired). I know you enjoy this stuff, but just be careful & listen to your body! There's always another day!

Many hugs,
Skeye

Char, Pete is like me, we never know when to stop. I tlaked to him the other day and he seems to keep himself busy as well. I like the idea of using a edit button in real life. Oh how many things we would like to hit the big D button on.

I would like to see a back up button, like the one for your computer's. It would be wonderful to back up to before we all started our health problems.
