Just thought it was time to give a quick update. I have still been working and traveling more than I should. That is about to change. Every year if we don't take our vacation we lose it. I have decided that I am going to take almost all Thursdays and Fridays off for the rest of the year That will give me 4 day weekends but still work my teaching days and on counseling/admin day.

The pain has been on the rise and I am trying to limit my activities but that is difficult to do so hopefully these days off will help. I am trying to stay away from drs. My PCP is still willing to handle my meds and I have no more appointsments set. The meds are all set up automatically from a mail order pharmacy by my work comp company. The high blood pressure seems to be tied to the stress so I am working at lowering the stress hoping to lower the pain.

I have started the steps in looking into finding a new position. I am waiting for my certification are all updated. Those should be back next week and the I will be sending out resumes with packets. I will be looking at TX, AZ, NW, UT, NV and CA. My daughter is not sure she wants to move and she is desperately looking for a job and possibly attending college. The wonderful wife loves her new job and with me taking time of I will get to play the role of house husband. I will say that the depression had been a major factor stepping back even for the next couple months could make a big difference. Blessings on all the rest of the HW family and may be overcome with decreased pain and big satisfying smiles.

Fatherjohn,
I've been wondering how things were going for you on all fronts - pain, job, etc. I am thrilled you're going to take your vacation time, and it should be interesting to see if during that time your pain and blood pressure decrease.

I was hoping to see "PA" in your list of states but alas, I'm on the wrong side of the country! I do hope you find whatever you are looking for, but first I hope it's some well-deserved R&R time!

Hugs,

PaLady

FJ your doctor doesn't see you like every 6 to 8 weeks for your pain meds?

I was wondering the same as Scarred. I wish I could get a 90 day script for my pain meds so I could use my mail in drug source but my PM insists that I drive there every 30 days, pay my co-pay, then pay for a 30 script where I could save alot using the mail-in.

Nice to see ya FatherJohn, we all miss ya yeah

Texas is a nice State to live, but very hot...Here in Houston the
humidity alone is very very bad at times...and you'd have to worry about
Hurricanes if you live by the coastline...but our Winter's are nice indeed..
We might move to Austin, TX in a couple of years so we won't have to worry about the hurricanes...
and to get a little less humidity would be nice...

My uncle lived in Arizona, another hot state, and planted cactus plants and tree's out front for his lawn..

Anyways, hope you can get some rest and get your blood pressure lowered, finger's crossed and
well wishes...so sorry your pain levels are up... Lots of soft hugz..

Please post more updates, missed you...

Well, I was to take the day off today. I had to go in and handle a couple of things and then I had to go rent a carpet cleaner so the students could clean all the carpets at the center tonight. My wife left for work and my daughter was gone so after picking up the carpet cleaner, I thought, why not take it home first and at least hit the heavy trafic areas since I had to rent it anyway. My wife is going to be upset when she gets home and finds out I moved all the furniture and cleaned all the carpets. She won't have to search hard to find me, I am the one lying down muttering I know I should not do these things, I know I should not do these things...

So much for taking some time off. I will try harder tomorrow to relax and not do stupid things.  I did manage to get several letters out today introducing myself to individuals in several states looking for new employment opportunities.

The med thing is hard to explain. I all my meds are sent via mail except the pain meds. They tell me that they will be doing that as well hopefully this next month. I don't have to schedule an appointment to get any refills. My PCP just writes the script and I pick it up monthly at the front desk. They would mail it if I wanted. He says that as long as there is no major changes, we can continue as is. I saw him several months ago when I was freed from the quackologist.

I will try and post tomorrow as I should be home doing NOTHING.

Fatherjohn,
Do you have a blackboard you can write 500 times "I know I should not do these things"? ;-)

I think your wife should post to us occasionally. Just for our entertainment. :-)

Hopefully you won't get into too much mischief tomorrow!

Hi Fatherjohn,

If I could do cartwheels I would do a thousand for you and your decision to FINALLY cut down your working hours.  Even more for sending resume's.  Be assured we are all praying for you to find a NORMAL job where you will be appreciated!

Now onto the scolding lol...not really, I think we tend to try and prove we can do stuff like normal people...of course when we're laying on the sofa or bed writhing in pain, then and only then do we ask WHY DID I DO THAT.  I know for me, despite the added pain its a personal victory when I actually accomplish something I shouldn't.....yup I know STUPID!

Please RELAX today and like PALady says write 500x's I will NOT do.....

PAlady, EDT and WB, After I posted last night, I took the meds as I should and it was about 12:30 AM when I went to bed. At 2:30 AM I received a call from our security service that said we had a fire alarm at the center. It was hard to act awake but I went in and had to hadle an issue that lasted until after 5 AM this morning. We had a water leak and it dripped down from the 3rd floor into the ceiling on the second floor draining into a smoke alarm. I came home and went cack to bed about 5:30 AM and was called out again at 10:00 AM and had to go in again. I just came home and am trying to relax. When I came home, I saw the vacuum cleaner sitting in the middle of the floor but it did not look like it had been used. I am going to give my wife a bad time as she left for work after I went into the office this morning and she must have lefgt the vacuum out for me to vacuum today. If I am supposed to be relaxing why would she leave the vacuum out for me? Unless she thought our daughter would use it. I should get a good response from her after I kept her up most of the night.

I am going to try and relax now and not answer my phone unless the building is burning down. In that case, I will call and make sure all the students are out of the building and tell them I will drop in Monday and see if there is anything left. What more can you expect from a drug addict, right. (Sorry for the sarcasim)

Well, well, well!! Slowing down, taking a day off, sending out resumes, wow it sounds very much like you have a plan of action going on. Good for you and your family. I guess you know this news will not hurt anyone's feelings around here, since you have been preached at, scolded, lectured, you name it, to slow down and catch your breath.

I think this is absolutely wonderful. Are you sure you are not running a temp. Hey, you fell not long ago, did you wack your head lol? Whatever brough this on, all I can say it appears to be long overdue.

Tx is a wonderful state as long as you are not on the coastline lol. The humidity can be just horrible. Chart is down south from me so she really gets hit with, I am in Ft Worth, so the humidity is not near as bad.

I hope you get numeroous positive replies to the resumes. Keep us posted.

I was able to send some credentials and resumes off via email and have already started getting responses that they were received and looked at. It would be a big decision as our daughter who just turned 18 is not sure she wants to move. My son in Iraq says he would feel weird since he lft and his things are here and possibly when he returns in May we could be elsewhere. I am not hardened but they will adapt.
