I know it`s been a long time since i have been in here but sitting on the computer is the last thing i have been thinking of , in the past pew months .
Last week i had a melanomia chopped out along with a SCC ,Just seems each time i go see a dr there is always something i leave behind.
I ended up stopping the pain relief as the side effects were so bad i started to haemorrhage and ended up with extreemily high temps .So now i just put up with the pain .Some days its so bad but i try to focus on something elae to lesson the severity .
There are some totally useless Drs in this country i went to see an orthopedic surgeon a couple of months ago and he was to ring me back the following week with what he was going to do in reguards to pain in my back and legs .Some days i cant even walk and just to do shopping causes so much pain .But even with the dr here ringing him there has still been no reply .What makes it hard is the fact i have to travel atleast 300km just to see someone .This week i will ask the gp for a referral to a different dr as i just cant cope with all of this  for too much longer .

Snowflake,
I'm so glad you posted! I've wondered how you're doing. "Useless doctors". You got that right. But I am glad you're getting some treatment, but sorry no one's really helping you with the pain. It's just so unfair, with all you've been through and continue to go through.

I wish I had some magic solution to suggest, but we will listen!

Hugs,

Hi Snowflake!!

We're all happy to see you. What a miserable bunch of doctors you've had to put up with. It's a shame. I know it's a long drive to see someone but I just know it would be worth your time to travel anywhere to get proper and respectful care. One thing I would suggest is to find a university/teaching hospital that is closest to you. They are on the cutting edge of technology and will most likely give you great treatment, not like what you've been getting. Here's a link that will help you find these facilities around the world. It's not a complete list so you might want to research some more if there isn't one near you. Hope this helps!

SnowFlake,
missed ya hun! I'm glad you posted and it's a good idea in going to your doctor to get a referral for another
neurologist or pain management doctor...A teaching Hospital like Chutz mentioned might be of help to you...
sure do wish you didn't have to travel so far to see those doctor's....
Prayers, Well Wishes and lots of soft hugz to you SnowFlake...

   Dear Snowflake,

Good evening! *warm huggs* It is very nice to see you again! I hope you are able to realx a little bit tonight. You have been through so much!!! *hugg* I am glad you are going to ask for a referral to a different doctor. I would be fed up!!!!! I mean, why on earth should you be made to wait around for weeks on end, just for an increadibly painful drive, more co-pay for a doctor who cannot be bothered to call you back? If he does bother to call you back atall I hope he has a very good excuse for his inaction. Grrr! I hope your primary care physician can get on the ball and help you with a new doctor right away. Your in our hearts and prayers here. Stay strong!

*huggs*

Thanks everyone it`s good to be back even though it`s only now and then ,
Whitebeard thanyou for the email i tried to reply but am having problems sending out emails not sure whats the problem .
These past few days have been really hard the pain has become a lot harder to cope with i`m actually going to see a chiropractor on Tuesday to see if there is anything he can suggest that will help relieve some for me as its going to be a while before i can get to see another specialist .I have to see the oncologist and ent surgeon early next month but not even looking forward to the trip down it will be a 1800km round trip in two days i know i`m not even going to be able to walk when we get there just the three hour one to the next major centre from us is bad enough, and then there is all the stairs we have to climb when we get there .All i see is more pain .
I`m seeing the dr here this morning i need something to help me sleep last night i was awake more than asleep the slightest movement was so painful and then took ages to settle ,I just feel like getting up and staying awake rather than trying to sleep and causing a disturbance to hubbys sleep seeing he has to work twelve hours on his shifts he needs his sleep more than me .
Dani i dont think i will rely on the local dr for much at all he is so useless when it comes to some things ,for example i can`t even show him the wound site of one of the recent cancers which i had removed as it is under my shirt he freaks out if you even open one button on your shirt ,my daughter went to him with an awful cyst in her groin he didn`t even want o see it just wrote out a script for antibiotics instead .hen a couple of months down the track she had to have emergency surgery on it as the tissue all around it was dying due to the infection the surgeon was so shocked that it was as bad as it was .But sadly thats what this guy is like and he has a sign up in his surgery pap smears done here i just wonder who does them or if he does them with his eyes shut as he is just to frightened .We have fourth rate drs out here and it`s just not good enough .One thing i have learnt over the years with my problems is i do not ask them anymore .Just so pleased i do not have young kids that need to see a dr .
PaLady when you find that magic solution will you please let me know as i sure could use some .

I sure hope that your chiropractor can help you! After reading one of your other post I sure don't know how that Doctor is even allowed to practice medicine! Don't worry about sending back  E-mails, if it is alright I will send you Good wishs now and then! I worry about you as I think all of us here on the forum do! Try and be strong, I still keep you in my thoughts and prayers, and I keep hoping all the best things for you! You certainly deserve only the best!

Snowflake you  certainly have a long drive to see you oncologist and other doctors, do you live in the outback ( is that the right terminology?) Anyway how on earth do you stand making those trips?  I figured it must be around 540 mile one way, a kilometer is about .6 miles here in the states I believe. anyway ..........Good Luck to You I  keep trying to send you good healing vibes hopefully one day they will get to you and help!

Thank-You Snowflake for posting and letting us know how you are doing!

Only and all the Best to You!

Thank you White Beard I had a treatment with the chiropractor last week which only intensified the pain he told me not to sit for any length of time but i could lie down .Lying down was the most painful experience i have gone through in a long time .Tomorrow i`m due for my second treatment i`m sure he will be surprised to see all the bruises he left on me .I had to have him stop a the pain was just so bad i could not take it .
I`m not sure if i should take some morphine before i go tomorrow if it would help or not .My hubby isn`t sure i should see him he reconds i should see another specialist instead but at the moment i`m happy just to try this and give it a go .I`m just so tired from travelling away to see drs .

I am kind of wondering about that too! I mean you said your chiropractor gave your bruises?? Do you bruise easily? Or is the chiropractor that rough on you? Or is it something else? I can understand why your husband doesn't want you to go back to him!

If you do I think it is a good idea to take pain meds before going! That way you get a head start on controling the pain before it really starts. It is much easiter to controll that way. It is always much harder to controll pain if it has a chance to get really bad and out of control! I know that if I am going to do something that could really cause me to have pain later on, I will take my break through pain med in advance and then after wards the pain is easier to handle! The Doctors use to order that for patients on Onco before they would go to Physical Therapy, or have other test done MRI and Xrays, it always made it easier for them! And it made it easier for the Docs to in controling their patients pain!
Thank-You for keeping us posted on how you are doing! I keep praying that you will get better!

Snowflake,
Like White Beard I'm a little hesitant about the chiropractor treatments with what you're sayiing. Some soreness might be expected, but bruises? And that much pain? I guess my inclination would be to find a good physical therapist who maybe has a wide variety of training and can do some similar things, but in conjunction with treatments like heat, ultrasounds, stim units, etc.

I know and can understand why you may feel somewhat desperate for any kind of relief, but please be careful!

Hugs,

PaLady
