It's late and I'm hungry! As most of you realize, I write the Koffee Klatch just before I head for bed here on the West Coast. That way it's here when people log on to the forum the next day. But by this late at night I get the munchies or like tonight, my tummy is rumbling!!!

Do you have a snack at bedtime? What do you have? What's your favorite? What would you LOVE to have? Are you a midnight eater...I mean do you wake up and eat during the night? OK, true confessions time...or not. blush

I a cereal and milk girl. For some reason some icy cold milk and cereal soothes my tummy and puts me to sleep. There are cereals I love but rarely buy because I love them...make sense? Like Sugar Pops...OK, they don't call them that any more...what is it, Corn Pops. But for most of the years they've been selling them they were called Sugar Corn Pops. OK, I'm on a I buy plain cereals like Special K (with red berries is great), Quaker Oat squares, Cheerios, and any of the regular Chex cereals.

Now, if I was going to be naughty I'd be having a nice slice of cheesecake or yellow cake with chocolate frosting. How about a bowl of vanilla bean ice cream with thick fudge sauce. But I doubt I have enough insulin to get through something like that, plus I'd be twice the size I am. I never, ever used to eat at night. But since my fibromyalgia kicked in I'm awake sometimes during the night for an hour or two. At those times I get the urge to eat. It depends on my blood sugar reading whether I have a small snack or not.

What do you like for a bedtime snack, if any?

I'm off to have my cereal for the evening, and a chaser of insulin...

Chutzie whatever am I going to do with you starting these food topics at this hour??? rolleyes

I think I could just copy both your post and Praying's and make myself a bedtime snack buffet. I mean Krispy Kream doughnuts and Crem Brulee???? shocked turn Yep, I would be dead, but oh, what a way to go!

Now a few of you oldies know I got into this "thing" (love affair?) with M&M's about a year ago starting with leftover Halloween candy. (Yes, this is why I tossed the leftovers this year and I know I'm gonna hear about it again! wink) But last year I didn't stop with Halloween. Those little munchkins were so good and so easy to just have "hanging around" at night I got into them big time. Handfuls and handfuls late at night watching tv. Getting up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and grabbing a handful while I was up! smhair

Then the heartburn started. And got BAD and so I stopped the M&M's and the heartburn didn't go away. So I had it checked out and learned I had Barrett's esophagus with precancerous cells. So THAT has changed my bedtime habits big tme. I'm told I'm not supposed to eat anything - ANYTHING - for 3-4 hours before bedtime! I mean how is that humanly possible??? shakehead I have switched to an apple or another piece of non-citrus fruit, sometimes rice pudding, and some of that yummy flavored soy milk (BTW the blueberry kind goes great on cherrios!). So my night time snacks are still there, and I have to force myself to stay up for at least a couple of hours before I hit the sack, which is why I'm up now. I just had a banana and some mocha soy milk an hour or so ago. This is not my idea of fun. shakehead

So I will go to bed counting Krispy Kream doughtnuts instead of sheep! yeah

Sweet dreams,

I'm a ice cream eater. Vanilla with lots of hershey's syrup is my favorite. I also like mine a little melty so I pop it in the microwave for a few seconds.

If I snack at bedtime I usually want a cookie of some sort. I usually don't snack before bed though. I've gotten into the habit of brushing my teeth an hour or so after dinner and I don't want to do it again so I just don't eat so I don't have to brush. Now that is lazy!!!
