Dear Friends & Family,
Last night around 10:00pm est, I was in bed and remembered that I needed to p/u a perscription at the CVS in the A.M. so I got up and loged on to put my order in so it would be ready for me when I get there this morning.

After taking care of that I remembered it's Chat night in HWCP so I desided to jump in. I've only been there a couple times before and never caught it on a good night when any of my friends are in there.

When I logged in I saw White Beard & Dani in there and said to myself> "Great" two of my "peeps" are in there! I jumped in to say Hey and Dani responded w/ a Hi Pete, how are you?, WB's name dissapeared!

There were these two guys in there having a strange conversation and then Dani dissapeared too! They were talking about some sort of cosmic crap about how there is nothing after life and they couldn't wait to get there because they hated their lives so much!!!!

I tried to be polite but one responded to my forum name "Pete trips again" and suggested I was "tripping on acid"!!! I got offended but remained cool and wrote that I didn't think I belonged there w/ them and said goodnight. They in other words said GOOD, Get out!!!

My luck w/ the chat room has been really bad, I never seem to go there when anyone from CP is in there! Now I'm a little gun-shy about going in and waisting my time or even getting insulted!!! Does any one monitor whats going on in there?

Sorry to be complaining, I should just forget it but these jerks really got to me!!

Hope everyone has a GREAT weekend w/ no/low pain!!!

Hugz>

Good morning Pete!....Yes there were several of us that saw it as well, and to tell you the truth it really kinda spoiled the evening for many of us. I simply left, after a bit, because I could clearly see that anyone that tried to engage them was getting played. I don't know it there is a way for the Moderators to take care of that kind of problem, but it would have been nice. Have a great day Pete!

Two names...............arjun and confuzzled.  I know I have been critcized for naming names before but again....................if we protect what we have, then this doesn't become a problem.  We need to say what needs to be said.  "I am offended by what you have said.  You are not being supportive; this is a forum of support."  Then PM your peeps and tell them you are going to another room and invite them.

I have reported arjun already to admin.  Confuzzled has been banned time and time again and just comes back with a slightly different name.  If no one entertains that kind of garbage then those people may leave.  Arjun has told me that he/she doesn't even have a chronic illness.  My feeling is that he/she doesn't belong here if he/she isn't here to support.  I talked to arjun one night and told him/her that.  His/her attacks on peoples personal beliefs are just bizarre and totally innappropriate.

Pete, I am very sorry you didn't have a good time last night.  You are a very supportive member of this forum and you deserve better!!  I hope you will try another time.  I would love to hear/read what you have to say.  I suspect that was how it was for lots and lots of us.  Last night's chat was dominated by a few very needy people.  We need to leave and go to another room when they join us.

Moderators really can't do anything more than what we can do.  Moderators can report to admin. and ask that person to leave but so can we!!  If we step up, this becomes a place for us.  MOST of us know what is appropriate behavior.  We can police our selves.

Gretch, I agree, and now see that they have a past history of doing this. They do need to be removed. It was not as fun, for any of us last night.

   Dear Pete!

*warm huggs!!* We usually chat much earlier in the evening. I am sorry I left right when you got there, but it was story time with my bumblebees. We read "Walter the Farting Dog!". In any case, I know what you mean. Honestly some of them were really trying my patience. I was very frustraited by the time I came back, because the mindless banter & Innuendos were out of control!!!! In any case, I am so sorry I missed you. I wanted to chatt so badly!! But I was already late. maybe if you can? try to come a few hours earlier next week if you can??

I dont mean to be grumpy, but gosh! Knowing they have done this repeatedly really making me very fussy! It is our night and our time to be together. I tried to understand what their issues was, but honestly I felt like a dog, chasing a rabbit, around and around a tree. mad

Sounds like it was a good night to stay out of chat! I'm pretty glad I missed it all to tell you the truth, but I will explain why in another Post.

Pete,
I wasn't there but I agree with Gretchen in that if we don't speak up then nothing will happen. Gretchn I for one am glad you put some names down. I don't get to chat often, but there has to be a way to both report those members and possilby even put them on "ignore" during the chat. But from what I'm reading more should be done. Did Chutz see this?

I just went to the Members list and found out that Arjun has NEVER posted...not once!!  That tells me that this person is just a crazy that likes to stir up trouble wherever he/she goes...We are better off not giving him anymore of our thoughts or time...

Hey, gang,
We're not wimps!!!! Let's get creative with this thing (not mean, not breaking forum rules, just creative!). First, the simpliest thing would be for everyone to put these people on "ignore'. I hope that works with the chat, too. If so, you would't even see their posts. But even though none of us have a lot of energy to deal with this stuff, collectively we ought to be able to figure out - what would ANNOY them most? I mean, let's have some fun with it. WITHOUT breaking forum rules!

Just a thought!

PaLady
p.s. I do not mean to suggest this behavior should be tolerated. Since it seems these individuals are not posting or serious members of the forum, there should be a way via moderators and the admin to handle this. But in the meantime....let's have a little fun? But Pete, I sure understand if you were alone that you wouldn't want to tackle it. SInce I don't go to chat I probably shouldn't suggest things, but I DO know we're not wimps. I also know that they likely love it if we get angry and give them more attention. I wish we could make up our own language!

Again, there is not much a moderator can do.  A moderator could ask this person to leave.  Why can't we do that? Sometimes if you say anything, a person like this can get really nasty.  A moderator can't boot anyone off nor can a moderator ban anyone. Remember that moderators are just "us" type people who have volunteered to watch for spammers and other rule violations.  We have one lone admin. that is very busy with this sight and a regular job and HUGE family.

WE can manage this!!!!  PAlady has awseome suggestions.  I think we stick with ignoring and expressing our feelings without attacking.  IE - " I am offended by what you said.  Please remember this is a forum of support"

I know if we each welcome people as they arrive with "welcome to the chronic pain chat night"  people that don't usually post may feel funny crashing the party.  It can help although, others don't care and will stay regardless.

I wasn't on Chat, but I do know that people like this enjoy the chaos they cause and they love attention. If they are completely ignored, no matter what they do for attention, they'll get bored and will usually go away. It's like when one of my boys was throwing fits (during that wonderful stage - you know, the 'terrible twos' that seem to last 3 years!) - I would ignore him, instead of reacting to him - and eventually he would quit and go on to something else. Try treating these boneheads like the two year olds that they are acting like! smilewinkgrin

Sorry Folks,
I haven't spoke up because I left town early Sat. A.M. right after I posted this. It was my Mom's 82nd birthday and she was going to be spending it alone! I just couldn't let that happen so I jumped in my Chinese BMW> Hyunde>?> don't even know how to spell it! Then drove the 250 miles down and surprised her!

It was GREAT, we went out to dinner (Appleby's 2 for $20> I'm broke! It was just OK but the company was GREAT!) then sat around and watched the WW-II special on the History Channel. We were looking for my Dad in all of Europe from D-day to the Nurenberg Trials and her older Brother in Italy who was in the Mountain Division> Alpine ski patrol, sadly he was killed there.
What a great show, did anyone see it?

I did a bunch of chores for her this A.M. then went over to my house to see my sick friend Jack and pick up more stuff to bring back up here. Just got home a little while ago!

Anyway, yes those guys were real jerks and I'm for giving them the boot next time they show up! Unfortunately, they are the type of guys who would really love to get someone upset enough to loose their temper! They would feed on our anger for sure. I don't know what we could do but I'll help w/ anything anyone comes up with an idea! I hate those guys, they are probably little weasles who would be terified to say anything to one of us in person!!! I'd crack their heads together like cantalopes! HeHeHe!!!

Dani, don't worry about leaving, I don't blame you at all! I did to as soon as I realized what was going on. I thought about getting into it w/ them but desided not to lower myself to their level!

Anyway, I have to go jump in the shower and wash the 500 miles of road, chores, loading & unloading off myself!

Love Yuze Gize!!!

Pete,
So glad you were able to surprise your Mom. 82 years - Wow!! It sounds like you had a wonderful night, some meaningful shared experience watching that tv special Sometimes the little things are really much bigger than we think as far as what they bring to our life, you know?

How's your friend doing with keeping up your house and/or paying rent? I hope he's improving!

Hugs,

Pete good for you for looking after your Mom. I am quite sure she enjoyed every minute of it.

Pete, someone on here suggested on chat night if the little wackos return, we can hit the ignore button on them. If all of us would hit that ignore button, I bet they would scram real fast. Its sure worth a try.

This past Thursday night was my first night joining everyone for the chat and I did have a problem with Confuzzled. I had said (to another newbie) that it was my first night too, and Confuzzled said that I was lying, that he/she had seen me in there before and had spoken to me. I know that I hadn't been there or spoken to this person so I said that maybe he/she was mistaken. Confuzzled then proceded to curse (using the "F" word) and just saying alot of off the wall stuff. Chutz was there and asked Confuzzled if he/she wanted to go to another room with her to talk about it, and then they disappeared for awhile. I'm not sure what happened, but I guess I feel like I started something. I hope the next chat I attend will be better! I need to watch what I say apparently...

Tammy,
Although I wasn't there, I'm sure it wasn't anything YOU said. These people were beyond inappropriate. There's no way we would condone calling another member a liar, or such fowl language. It's against the forum rules, let alone common decency. Please try to not let it influence you, or see it as representative of what happens there. The couple of times I've attended chat they've been fine. Move a little fast for me, but nothing like what's being reported here.

Again, you did nothing wrong!
