OK Black Friday the day after ThanksGiving, the big shopping day, is anybody going out shopping today? The begining of the Christmas Season, I have never went shopping on the Friday after ThanksGiving but tomarrow I am now I am not going to get up at 3AM to get to the stores that early, some are actually opening up at 3 and 4 AM I am going to take my 6AM meds and then be on the road, if I can be there by 7AM hopefully I will still be able to get in on the specials. I am looking for a GPS thing for my car, you know the thing that gives directions. Anyway my Son inlaw has one and I think that it is really cool and I want one for Christmas so that I is what I am going to look for, but only if I can it really cheap! Ha

Anyway are any of you going shopping on this Day "Black Friday" ? If not that is OK!..... because what I want to know is what YOU want for Christmas? So todays Koffee Klatch is a letter to Santa, telling him what you want for Christmas! I know that we all want peace on earth and the best for everyone here,, and all that, so lets not put that down but instead let us be like little kids and like most little ones they think mostly about themselves, so lets pretend that we are little again and do the same and list down what we would really like to have for just ourselves! Who knows maybe Santa will read your list and maybe you will get it!

What I really want for Christmas is not reasonable at this time so I won't bother listing it, but I do like gadgets and I have wanted a GPS thing for my car for quite awhile! So that is what I want Santa to bring me for Christmas a GPS thing for my car!!! Now what do you want Santa to bring you for Christmas? You better make your list!

Dear Santa,

I think all things considered I have been a pretty good boy this past year. I have endured almost the entire year in a lot of pain and still have managed to raise my small son on a 24/7 basis who is a happy, healthy kid who still loves to be with his Dad.

The only thing I want for Christmas is a magic pill that will restore my health so that I can be an even better father to my boy. I want to be able to teach him how to play baseball and football. I want to teach him how to swim and how to work on cars and with wood.

Sincerely;

Bubber's Daddy.

Dear Santa,
I'm sorry I'm being a bit greedy, but I'm asking for two things. One is a new (or newer) car. I actually need that as well as want it; does that count? But I do need something with a good sunroof because I LOVE that.

And second, could I have one of the same magic pills you make for Jim?

Thank you very much.

PaLady :-)

  Hehehehe! LOVE IT!

As to Question #1, no, I do not go shopping on "black friday". Butt!! I hear it is dubbed "black friday" because that is when retailers' "get out of the red, and into the black" with profits. smilewinkgrin

     Dear Santa!

I want to have all my Chocolate Baskets done in time to hand out before christmas! So, please send many elves my way to help bring smiles to all those I know! hehe

  Love,
   dani

p.s. Please dont listen to my 8yr old when she says she wants a "hot pink Moped Bike" smhair

Good Morning!!
I don't do Black Friday and have only gone about 2 x's in my lifetime and I'm nearly 60. The bestest part is that my crazy kids do it and I can give them a list and my debt card and off they go. I get the bargains but not the crowds.

I haven't really thought about what I want for Christmas.......my bath towels are sort of ratty looking maye some new towels, piece on earth and our service men to be safe and home soon.

No! I wouln't go shopping today if you paid me to go shopping; not a big shopper to begin with and the thought of being in crowds of frenzied people does not sound like a fun day. My non-habit is why I am debt free and proud of it. As far as Christmas, I grew up religious and the holiday was clebrated honoring the birth of Jesus, gift giving was not part a big part of my past tradition, so I don't focus on presents now. I'm not sure what Christmas is about anymore for most people other than giving/getting presents, what is it that people are celebrating? All I know is that I'm relaxed and stress free this time of year and that's better than anything anyone can buy me.

Yep, with cane in hand I headed out the door this morning at 2:30 a.m and made it to JCPenney's
before 3 am, Got my daughter a very nice winter coat, scarf, hat, purse, for 90.00 with tax...then
had breakfast at a fast food place (was not McDonalds) and then went to half priced books and
got 5.00 gift card for free...then Home Sweet Home....
The Tech deals we're aweful this year and I was not about to stand in line for a
32 inch lcd tv at Target...The Line at JcPenney's was small and we got in and out, in under 40 minutes,
and everyone was nice and polite and no shoving.
PALady I'm so with ya on a new vehicle, I could use a tacoma truck to help move my daughter
on and off campus (University of North Texas, yeah) so if Santa could hear us I would want you to have
your new car and me a small truck and I would also wish that Everyone else got their wish as well...
Peace is always nice.....
and Big Lucy Christmas is about Christ...and we pray that people remember this..Please this is meant in a nice ways....
(((((((((((((HUGZ)))))))))))
Heads up---Sam's Club On-Line had an Acer Laptop for under 200.00 Yesterday, so look on-line before going out....
This was a way better deal than at Best Buy....(Acer is a very good brand and holds up well).

Big Lucy,
I'm with you about the shopping thing! Most especially now with health issues! Don't need people pushing and shoving me and other feet to trip over.

I'll be waiting to see if White Beard got his GPS.

I also agree with you Lucy that, although I grew up religious and am no longer so (and we can't get into religious discussions here and that's a good thing) maybe just remember the meaning behind many days we call "holidays" and celebrating that. Things like peace and compassion to self and others.

Oh, I'll stop now! Shopping can be fun, too, especially if it's for kids. I wish I had the money to buy them some of the more interesting items, but it just means I have to get creative at the dollar store!

PALady and all my CP family

Wait nolonger here is my Black Friday shopping report! My plan was to be out of the house shortly after I took my 6AM meds, ( I take just about everything at 6AM, five different ones eight total! anyway first alarm aparenmtly did not go off, and my pill box alarm I don't know what happened to it. All I know is I woke up at 8:10 this morning I quickly took m y pills and mutttered unmentionable words under my breath, and scrambled into the shower and reheated a cup of yesterdays coffee in the Microwave and was on the road by 9AM! Allot later than what I had planned, but at least it was sunny even though it was cold 30 degrees. I was thinking about not going at all, but I just wanted to get out of the house, and be around people, yesterday was terrible for me, and I will not spend another ThanksGiving like that! But this is not the proper place for that! This is our Happy get away!

Anyway I went to Sam's Club and Santa is giving me a Garmin GPS Navigation system for Christmas! Smile! ( I figure I better get it now, as although I wanted to put off finalizing the divorce till after the first of the year because of tax filing status) You file according to your marital status at the end of the year, financially it would be better to wait till after the first of the year! How ever my wifes lawyer who has been dragging this all out for months on end want to finalize it all the December first! I don't think it can be done, but we have the court and Judge for 3 hours that afternoon! Anyway if it is finalized the first, I might not be able to afford a Christmas present for me then! Smile so I figured I bet get it now! After Sams's I went to Low's ( didn't get anything) and Menards and got two boxes of really nice Tree ornaments that I liked and tie wraps for my new LED lights I am putting on the tree! The stores were busy to say the least and the traffic, I do hurt a bit from all the walking, but I took my time and was careful, and it felt so good to just be out! Yesterday was so cold dank and dreary and even though I had Turkey and dressing and I even brought a Peach pie, and watched the Macy day parade, and I survived the day, I have found that "Me", "Myself". and "I" is just not enough company! It just doesn't hack it for such a Holiday! I was extremely lonely!

Today was Oh so much better!

Chart you are my Hero for today! Way to go!

Hi Whitebeard:

I am so glad that you were able to get out and acquire the gift you wanted most. Those GPS thingy's are very nice and so helpful. My son bought himself one when they first came out, and had loaned it to us on a few occasions and it was so helpful. When he went away to college in September, of course that went with him, and even though my husband never said a word, I knew that he was really wanting one. Our 24th wedding anniversary was in October, so that is what I got him as an anniversary gift.

Needless to say, he was very happy! I hope that you are just as happy with yours!

Take care,
Lorie

P.S. I saw that Walmart was going to have a TomTom GPS for $59.00 on Black Friday. I paid 3 x's that for the one I got my hubby. I am sure it is not the same exact model, but it did depress me for a moment. I got the wide screen version as his vision ain't what it used to be.

White Beard,
Hmm...I wonder if you'll wait until Christmas to open your present???? LOL Seriously, I know it sounds pathetic, but living alone when you get up Christmas morning it's not the same. Believe it or not I have wrapped my own present and openned it and it's odd how you still feel like it's a present! Almost like you didn't know what was inside! At least save the box and wrap it!

And of course when I had my cat he also had his gifts, which as far as he was concerned could consist of a roll of curling ribbon to last the rest of year!

It does not sound Pathetic!! I have not opened the box or even looked at it other than the display model at a distance, and I hadn't planned on opening it till Christmas morning! Were you reading my mind? I planned on wrapping it and putting it under the tree! You know when I was a young man in the military ( I was in the Air Force for over 5 years before I got married) and I had spent many a holiday alone or away from home) I used to do exactly what you described, and even when I got presents from home I would always save them ( unopened ) till Christmas! I will also fill a stocking that is one thing I alway had as a child and all of us always got a filled stocking from Santa, even our Dog. As our kids got older they would get up in the night and add stuff to my wife and I's stocking! my wife was never very big on stocking, but I always made sure hers and the kids stockings were over flowing! I mean with really nice stuff in them too, not just toys and candy, but jewelry and cosmetics, and even kitchen tools! I would always get up and fill the stockings after everyone went to bed. Even whit the kids grown up they still get a nice stocking from Santa! As I haved mentioned Christmas is a magical time and I am a little kid at heart at Christmas. I do not believe in getting kids or adults practical stuff like cloths, this is a time for toys and wishes to be granted and dreams to come true!
Your post touched me PALady you have a little child inside of you too! Just Like I do! I like that! Who says just because your an adult that you can't sometimes pretend and let that little child in you come out! Can't we all be like children for just a little while at Christmas?

I vote with the Whitebeard!!! I have been ordering stuff from ebay (cloths) for my grandkids, 17, 5 and 2 1/2 mos. and my daughters keep saying why don't you give it to them for Christmas? Because the only one that would like clothes is the 17 year old and she needs/wants a laptop to go to college with her this year. If they'd think back they rarely got clothes until they were high school age except we all got new jamas on Christmas Eve. I could care less if I get a present or not (but hubby better not forget) ha. I just love to see the kids and grandkids at that time excited and anxious. Christmas is that magical time of year that melts your heart and makes you happy.
And let's not forget Jesus is the reason for the season and no I'm not overly religious either but the presents won't hurt us either.

I shopped black Friday one time when I was young and stupid, lol. Thats all it took for me. I am not a very good shopper, I do not have the right temperment to be around people like that, learned that a very long time ago. I do alot of ordering online and I have no stress that way. Gift cards are big with me too. My treat is getting to wrap presents, I love wrapping presents. I make all of my own bows and enjoy it so much. I am going to go to the container store tomorrow to a bow making class. This is pending my right foot lets up. I learned some new ways last year from them but can't remember now. So, back there I will go. Their way is much easier than mine and the bows are awesome.e
