We're trying a new mattress to try to get some realief from pain at night. We ordered a King Sized open cell visco elastic memory foam mattress. Supposedly the open cell is a new technology/improvementand makes a big difference. Has anyone bought one of these beds? If so, what's your opinion of the comfort and pain relief from this mattress? It's not a mattress topper, but actually is an 8 inch thick mattress.

Jimmy, I have not tried what you are, but I can tell you I did buy a 4 inch memory foam topper that made all the difference in the world for me. My mattress set was new but I just woke up every day with a very sore body and I have an excellent pillow top bed. The topper really did help with this alot. Good luck.

Jimmy,
All I can tell you is I love my tempurpedic. Have had it about 4 years now. Does it cure your pain? Heck no. But it feels very soothing to crawl into, and that means the world to me. Sometimes it's the only place I want to be because it's the only place I feel a little relief. I've not heard of this new version, though.

The tempurpedic had a 3 or 4 month trial period. I'd make sure this one has sometime similar plan so it could be returned if you don't like it, even if you have to pay a small fee. I have heard that people who buy a non-name brand memory foam mattress aren't as pleased, so watch out for rip offs! But if it's got a good return period it's worth a try, IMHO.
