Hello,
Thanks for the welcome. I have what they call polly-arthrightus as well as being visually impaired with a hearing loss. I wear two hearing aids. My black lab Kodak is a guide dog. I have been living in the same condo since 1971. I am a widow of two and an half years. I had never lived alone before but I am doing real well with it. I have good friends who help when I need it. I like to do as much for myself as I can. Theh pain is bad sometimes but I know it could be worse. It is cold and wet here in southern California whitch does not help things much as most of you probably already know. I love to read, listen to music, write short stories and poetry, and walk with Kodak. I also enjoy meetitng new friends. I have a scrreenreader on my computer and it talks to me. A wonderful thing. The holliddays are hard on me since my husband has been gone. He loved Christmas. Well, that it is for now. Take care all.

Hi, Happy Dog,
I'd like to add my welcome to the Chronic pain forum of Healing Well. You'll find a lot of support and a lot of animal lovers here, and a few of us (me being one of them) live alone so we have some idea of what goes along with that, especially for the holidays.

I also wanted to let you know that Healing Well has a lot of different forums, and you can use the Quick Jump menu at the top to easiy move between them. I say this because there's an RA forum you might also want to post to. You can post to more than one place, so don't worry about that.

Again, welcome!

Hi Happy Dog

And welcome to the forum.  We love new members and we love their dogs too.  So Kodak, welcome.

I have fibromyalgia and the pain is awful some days, so I know how it can be.  We all share our pain, our joys and our ideas on here.  So feel free to post often and get to know us and let us get to know you.

There is a Koffee Klatch on this forum too that posts every day with a new topic.  Perhaps you would like to join us on there as well.  It is mostly fun topics and we usually post about things other than pain, but it sometimes creeps in there also.  lol.

So stick around and once again, welcome to the family.

Have a low pain day and God bless.

Believe in yourself.  Be kind to fellow humans and animals.  Take time to smell the flowers and the coffee.
And by all means, when you are down, ask me for help.  I will be there.

Hi Happydog (love the name!!),

I too want to welcome you to the CP board at HW! As has been said, this is a wonderfully friendly, supportive, and knowledgeable group! Welcome.

I have severe chronic eye pain that originated with a severe eye injury three years ago. Things keep getting worse instead of better (decreasing vision, decreasing neuralgic & muscular control), but they still can't find the cause. We know bits & pieces of the puzzle, but not enough to put the pieces together. Like you I also use several text-to-speech devices, but my vision isn't as bad as yours.

Again, welcome to the group!

Skeye

Hi Skey,
I am sorry to hear about your eye pain. I know about, as well. I have glacoma. It does not bother me just some of the time. I pray the docs will figure out what can help you. Take care and nice to meet you.
