I finally got the call today, after over a month of waiting, from the PM doctor's office saying that I'd been accepted and they scheduled my first appoitment! The only down side is that the appointment isn't until February 5th. I'm just happy that I got accepted and that I have an appointment! My PCP has said that she won't refill my pain meds since I've been referred to PM, but I wonder if I tell her my appt isn't until Feb. she might change her mind and help me out until I go? All I can do it ask I guess!

Anyway, that's my good news! I celebrated by becoming a kid again! I went to a vintage toy shop and bought myself a little girl Cabbage Patch doll! LOL I used to have one when I was young and I just wanted one again! I also bought my 2 year old son a little boy Cabbage Patch doll for Christmas. I think boys can have dolls too! I ended up also buying him a mega block farm, 2 Cars books, and some Nascar Christmas ornaments. Little shopping spree to celebrate my good news! Gotta indulge a little every once in while right? At least I'm in good spirits!

Happy Holidays everyone!

No more pain meds for me until the PM doctor accepts me. Who knows how long that will be!

Hi Tammy, yes we do need to indulge every now & then its good for the soul. I am very glad to hear you were accepted by the PM dr but so sorry you are having to wait. I would sure make an appt and go see my PCP and let him/her know how long it will be before you can be seen and lets hope you will be given some pain meds until the appt. That does not sound like an unrealistic request at all. Good luck and let us know how you make out.

Nothing wrong with little boys playing with dolls. It helps them be better Dads later in life.

We got our 4 year old a kitchen play set for Christmas this year. Who knows. We might have the next Bobby Flay on our hands, though after him talking for almost an hour about becoming a doctor tonight who knows.

Congratulations Jadensmom,
I'm glad that you are going to be able to see a PM finally. After all of this time, it's not that long until February is here, actually, times seems to go faster these days for some reason.
Sounds like you had some fun shopping. We are in for a major snow storm here so I will be going to the bank early, doing some grocery shopping and then home to huddle in for a snowstorm. Can't wait! I love the snow, hate the cold........

Sandi, your signature section is a little too long.  Please condense to ten lines as per forum rules.  Thanks.

So glad to read the good news - and that you celebrated for you and your son! Cool! I would have posted to you sooner, but I'm having computer problems and it seems I can only post once or twice (if that) before my machine crashes. I hope this gets off before my screen goes blank again.

Just wanted you to know I think it's great. I'd call or even drop your PCP a note and explain the date of the appointment and ask if you can have enough medication to tide you over so you don't go into any withdrawls. If you have some confirmation of the appointment on paper that you can copy and attach (or just say they're free to call and check the date of the appointment) that might show your openness.

Good luck - and have a wonderful holiday!

I don't have anything to add but want you to know I too am hoping you can get things worked out with your doctors so you don't have to go without pain control through the holidays.

I am seeing a Doctor at the IU Pain Clinic. Right now, I can't remember his name! LOL They sent me paperwork to fill out and his name was on there. Apparently this is a big place and there are quite a few doctors. I'm really nervous about seeing a new doctor, but then again, I'm always that way! LOL I did call my PCP and let her know when my appointment is, and asked if she could help me with pain control until then. She readily agreed and called in a refill on my pain meds right away. I am just so glad that I will have some sort of pain control over the Christmas holiday. I will be leaving tomorrow, my husband, son and I are staying with my mom and dad until Saturday. I should be home late Saturday evening. I'm really trying to just take the holiday in stride and not stress over anything. After all, it's just my family and I enjoying each other and celebrating Jesus' birthday! All the presents are wrapped (and there were a BUNCH of them! LOL I went overboard!), the pies I'm taking are baked (Candied Apple Pies, from scratch!) and all our bags are packed and ready to go! It's amazing what I can accomplish with just a little help from my pain meds! LOL

Anyway, I hope you all have a Merry Merry Christmas and a wonderful new year!!!!

*Huge Hugs*
