And I don't know about any of you but I'm beat! I'm sure the rest of you are tired by the weekend also. So when you really get tired, and it's the weekend...and a long weekend at that...how do you rejuvenate?

Of course I like to sleep in and not have hubby's alarm go off at some crazy hour while it's still black outside. But when I wake up I like to do stuff for me...and that often includes hubby. Even though it's not just sleeping or resting I like to do something enjoyable even though it takes energy. Something in doing a relaxing activity gets my brain going again. Going outside, if only to walk around the house also perks me up. Just smelling the fresh air or feeling the wind on my face really fills me full of life again. Right now I can hear the wind in the trees...I love wind! And we have a small creek back through the woods and during this time of year I can hear it from the house. That's so peaceful. Some people need to do busy and wild activities to keep going but I prefer calming yet fun things.

What types of things do you prefer to do on a weekend to bring back life to your soul?

I used to ride "Pearl" my Harley to unwind....but that is not possible anymore...so I reserch on the internet, what ever I want to. One of the things that I really look forward to and greatly enjoy is Thursday night Chat night! It is a blast, and I'm a telling you that we all get a bang out of it too! Last night...I go so tickled...and laughed so hard, I was crying. Anyone who has never been there, needs to come and check it out....we all let our hair down...and what a great time it is! Thank You Chutzy (DB)! smilewinkgrin smilewinkgrin smilewinkgrin smilewinkgrin

TGIF! I'm beat too, Chutzie! With my mom still in the hospital/out of commission, I'm exhausted from playing "mom," "daughter," and "granddaughter" all week! It sure makes me appreciate all that my mom does! A week and a half more of this...

I work all day on Saturdays, so that's not a restful day for me -- although I do find work somewhat rejuvenating. It's just fun for me. Sleep is the best way for me to unwind, but with pain & insomnia that doesn't come easily. So in the evening I like to just turn out the lights & collapse in my bed and watch tv show episodes on my computer (poor sleep hygiene, I know) with my dog. I got the M*A*S*H dvd set for Christmas, so I'm currently watching them. They're a hoot! For some odd reason I don't really like most movies.

I'm with ya skeye on the movie deal. I don't watch anything that has commercials, unless it's hockey. So if I can't sleep I pile into the recliner and turn on something like the NASA channel. I can usually drift off within an hour.

I seem to be busier on the weekends than I am during the week. The girls are off work and ask me to go with them here and there and I do a lot of cooking on the weekend. Friday nights are always happy hour here but limited usually to just one or two people and hubby works the weekend so that puts a snaffoo on things.

Chutz, I know that I have been known as the workaholic but I have been working hard at changing that. By Wednesday the pain level increases and goes off the charts by Friday night. The weekend now is trying to relax, alittle extra sleep and even a cup of coffee without driving, sitting at a desk or answering three phones. Drinking a cup of coffee without getting up once is a major achievement for me.

Michael, my son is coming back from Iraq in April. He tells me his first plan is to buy a bike and take a long ride. I told him maybe I will buy one also and we will take off together. My wife is not worried since riding in a car is difficult so there is no way a bike would be an option.
