Well I am back and have some news.
I am going to be taking 10mg of methadone once a day with my percocet to be used for breakthrough pain. I am really hoping it works but the methadone and its stigma scares the @#$% out of me. Lets all hope this is enough to get me some of my life back!
Thanks for all your kind words and support

In the United States today, there is a pervasive tendency to treat children as adults, and adults as children. The options of children are thus steadily expanded, while those of adults are progressively constricted. The result is unruly children and childish adults. ~Thomas Szasz

What doesn't kill us only makes us fight back harder! :P
Two level fusion on S1- L4 in 2000. One level fusion on L3-L4 in 2003 and revision on L3-L4 6 months later.  This led to a diagnose of failed back syndrome, nerve pain and Chronic Pain. Two bi-lateral patellar realignments on both knees last one in 1988.  Overall...I'm in great health.

Gosh I hope this works! It sounds like you are a little worried about taking it?? But really, you NEED relief, badly. We know you have tried everything in your power to control the pain, and we ALL know how hard things have been. So take a deep breath, and know that this could really be good for you!!!! *warm huggs* Here is a little information about it

Sarrah, if it helps, the 10 mg once a day is on the very low end of the dosage. That does not mean it won't work and I pray that it does. Being on the low end, I hope it sets your mind at ease. I like many others have tried methadone and it works great for some. I had no problem changing over when it did not work for me.

Sarrah thats good news about the visit to the dr. Don't stress so much about the Methadone, it can be an effective pain reliever for many. You are on a low dose and also remember it must build up like in your system before you will be able to tell if it is working. Do not take more a day than prescribed thinking it will kick in and get the pain down, thats how people OD is from taking not as directed or taking too much.Keep us posted on how you are coming along.
