OK, here's a silly question....

When you sit down to a meal, let's say a full meal with meat of some sort, starch and vegetable, what do you eat first? Do you eat all of one thing and then move to the next? Do you eat some of each item until it's all gone? Are you a 'mixer' and just stir it all together? What's your style???

Hubby always digs into the veggies first. Gets them out of the way so he can enjoy the rest of the dinner. tongue I'm one who takes a little of each item in turn until it's all gone...most often. There are a couple of things I mix like homemade mac and cheese with green peas. Gotta mix those up. That's a holdover from my school lunch days. But for the most part I whittle the stacks down until I'm full or it's all gone, whichever comes first.

What's your eating style??

For the most part I make the rounds with what I am eating taking a bite of this and a bite of that. One exception though is if I am eating mashed potatoes and any kind of meat that is ate with a fork. I "dunk" or scoop up some potatoes with my meat and eat them together.

Jim,

I know this is a silly subject but I'm also a "dunker" when it comes to the mashed potatoes. Must have a bit of the potato with each bit of meat and the have to come out even....lol Now I know I'm not alone.

I remember as a kid dad would fix fried potatoes and eggs for breakfast for the two of us in the winter time. Mom was not a breakfast person. To this day when I have a fried egg, over easy, I have to put the egg on top of the potatoes and "gush" it up. That was dad and my description for cutting the egg up on top of the potatoes then mixing it around a bit. Even when I was old enough to do my own I would ask dad to "please gush my eggs for me?"

I'm a little of this and a little of that kind of girl and isn't it aweful to end up with mashed potatoes w/out gravey or vise/versa then you have to try to balance it out again.

   Dear Chutz,

Hehehe. I start with meat and cut it into the tiniest little peices, every 4th or 5th bite I move on to a side. Then back to meat. Bread is usually last, unless meat juices are running into my veggies or side, then I use bread to mopp it up and eat a little bread in between. So I guess a mixer? hehe

I go for the meat first, then after I munch on the meat for a while I start on everything else & then I kind of alternate. It depends on how full I am. If I'm pretty full then I'll just concentrate on the food(s) I like the best.
