wink I called tmj (Suzane) this afternoon. She said she isn't doing too well but it sounded like she is going to stay the course of the treatment. She is loopy and can't get up and walk independently, is nauseated and is taking the generic equivalent of zofran, and has two days down out of her 5 day treatment. She remains cautiously optimistic and is keeping the faith and I wish her only the best and a speedy recovery

I called again tonight and did not get an answer, so I'm a guessing they put her to bed early. She had a rough night and day today. We will check on her tomorrow.

Hi my CP Friends,
I spoke with tmj (Suzane) around noon my time which would be her 1:00. She said she had a terrible night with a lot of pain and nothing that touches it for any kind of taking the edge off or anything else. The nurse came by this morning and as Michael reported they changed her subQ spot because her other was reddend and getting sore. She also said the nurse was checking in with the doc to see if they could increase the Ketamine a bit so maybe it would start easing more.

I told her everyone was keeping her in our thoughts and hopeful that this will impact her in the way she desires and that things will be better for her soon. I will call again this weekend and will update as I find out more news. Michael and I are talking about everyday so we don't repeat as much on the forums. The nurse comes in daily around 10 so if you would like to call her I would suggest either early morning but if she has had a bad night sometimes that might not be the best. I've waited most times until early afternoon and try to keep my visit short so she doesn't have to waste energy that she doesn't have. She does like the calls and especially the prayers and well wishes.

I spoke with tmj (Suzane) this afternoon. She is disappointed that the results are slow but is hanging in there staying her course of treatment. Yesterday she said her pain level was 15 on a scale 1-10 and it was again a horrible night. They have increased her dosage and she said her pain level is about a 10 today. She is nauseated and very wobbly but has her husband, mother and kiddo's helping her right now so she is being properly monitored has good care. The nurse comes every day around 10ish in the morning. I do have her address and I asked if there was anything I could do from good old Kansas USA and of course what can I do other than send my positive thoughts and prayers her way. She asked if I would send her a card she thought it would be nice to have a card from me. If anyone would like her address I would gladly share it with you in an email. I believe you can get it from my profile if you are intersted in doing a card. Keep her in your positive thoughts and prayers and hopefully this time next week it will be over for her along with that old headache that has been tormenting her.....cathy

I too called her this morning, and got the same report from her as well. Cathy, I expect and address from you for her, so that the wife and I can send a card too. It is a really sad thing to actually talk to a member on the phone and hear the pain ringing through the phone line. It is awful! She actually begs for help, and there is nothing we can do for her, but to listen and support and pray for her. It is so heart breaking to me! Chronic pain is a very serious thing on ones life, and can absolutely destroy a person in a very quick amount of time, especially if you're not getting any relief from medications. Her family has been affected by this also, and they are very worried about her. I can still her her begging for me to help her on the phone, and will never forget the helplessness that I feel. It makes me want to just bawl. Please do keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

Hi all,
I'll apologize in advance for the late update on Suzane especially when I don't have one to give you all so it is really really late. I did leave a vm but haven't heard anything today regarding her headaches. I will call 1st thing tomorrow and let you know if I learn something. My family was here most of the afternoon and I just didn't connect as soon as I would have liked.

Suzane if you able to read any posts remember we are all pulling positive thoughts toward Canada and I did offer my 0800 mass this a.m. for you. Please please feel better.

Hello all! I did get to visit with Suzane by phone this afternoon, and she is basically the same as yesterday. The pain is still intense for her, and she is so worn out. She did say however, that she did get a good nights sleep, something she has not gotten to do in quite some time..several years in fact. We will check on her tomorrow and report back when we know something...as she is not able to get on the computer at all. She also, told me that she had her husband print off some of her emails and read them to her today, and she enjoys that greatly.

I visited with tmj around noonish today. Her homecare nurse was just leaving and they had changed the drip site and increased her meds. She didn't have as good a night last night as she did on Saturday but was able to sleep a bit. She said the night before she had slept 9 hours and her hubby was worried about her and made sure she was breathing on Saturday night because she was sleeping so sound. She is still having pain and of course would like for it to be gone but the treatment was supposed to be for 5 days and yesterday would have been day 5 and the doc has decided to keep it dripping. I told her I thought she sounded better and she said that some of the other friends had said the same so...maybe some progress?? Let's hope that is what is happening... yeah

Yes...we are thinking about you Suzane, and hope you are doing better today. You sure have had a rough time of it. Also, tell your Husband and your Mother, that we are thinking of them as well. This has been a real worry for your family for sure. If I remember right, your son was laying down with you as well. We hope your Husband is reading these to you from time to time. Hang in there girl!

Chartreux!....I hope you are doing well too! Did you ever get over your terrible pneumonia, that you suffered with a few weeks ago? It can really creap up on a person, and turn into a real threat if not caught quick enough. My former wife got it once, and I felt so sorry for her, and it worried me to death. You take care too, and let me know how you are doing.

Well...I just got off the phone with tmjpain, and I was shocked to hear how well she sounded tonight. It was wonderful, and she said that she now had some hope. I asked her how her pain level was, and she said an 8 to a 9...which is better that is was for sure. She is still not sleeping very well, but again sounded so good to me. It was like talking to another person. Lets all hope she keeps going in the right direction.

Thanks for the update Michael -- you're such a good friend.
I'm so glad to hear that things are starting to look up! Do you know how much longer she will be getting the infusions? If you talk to her tomorrow tell her that she is in my thoughts & prayers and that we miss her here very much.

hugs,

I will sure do it Skeye, and really I do tell her that we are calling on behalf of the members here. When she started out the treatment was only supposed to be for 5 days, but then the Dr, decided to increase the meds the third day into it. I think now that there is some progress, they have decided to extend the treatment, but I really don't know for how long.

My guess is that they will keep increasing the meds until they find a level that she can live with. I also think she will post here tomorrow, as she gets to feeling better. Again, I was so surprised to hear her voice, and how well she sounded...it was like night and day to me! I watch members here post horrible problems of themselves, with their pain, and I wonder and cringe at the thought of it all. But I have never listened to someone on the phone before in that kind of pain, and hear them begging for help, and was almost more than I could bare. It was terrible I tell you! Thank you, to all of you that have asked about her, as it has meant a great deal to her. I also wanted to Thank Privey for all her help as well, and for the phone calls she made to Suzane these last few days. Lets hope tomorrow brings even more good news about her.

I will certainly do that Catahoula! It means so much to her to know that the members from HW care. I did just get off the phone with her just minuets ago, and again, she sounds very good. She was even laughing and giggling, and I have never known her to do that before. This is a good sign I think, but I still think the jury is still out on her treatment. She said that last night was a little rough, but was doing better this morning. I asked her if they were going to up the med a little more, and she was not sure yet, but thought they might. If anyone wants to email her that would be great or if you want to send a card, she would ole that as well. Privey will check on her this afternoon, and should report back this evening. Thank you all so much for your support for her. This is where the members really shine here on HW.

Michael,
I'm doing better, but still not up to myself, I'm trying to get back to answering posts, it still takes me til 2-3 a.m. at night to get comfy enough to sleep (as I fractured some ribs, coughing so hard) and this morning the phone rang at 8 a.m and I was finally asleep, so that made me somewhat grumpy. Thanks for asking.
Please keep us posted on you and reminders for your date of surgery as I'll forget, March 5th??? good luck with it.
and Please when you call TMJ again to let her know we are all praying for her and sure hope she gets a low days soon.
Many well wishes to all...
I so want to chat tonight but I'd have to take breaks as it does hurt sitting, I miss getting out like I usually do, seems like all I get out for is doc appointments, tests or grocery shopping...but I have started back on my needlework and that's helping..
anyways..TMJ we luv ya so please know we are thinking of you and miss you too...

Chartreux,...broken ribs? That sounds horrible! I knew you were pretty sick, and we all worried about you. We are glad you made it through though! Privey was going to call Suzane, and I made sure to tell her that you were asking about her, and a couple of others as well. Also, my surgery date was moved up to March 1st, and honestly...I'm terribly worried about it, but at the same time, I very happy it is almost here. I know that is won't be fun, but I just have to try it. Lets hope Suzane pulls through this as well, and comes out with flying colors. You take care of your self Chartreux, and come to the chat when you can. I check each and every time to see your Kitty symbols at the bottom of your replies. They make me smile for some silly reason.

Michael and Cathy...

I think it is awesome that Suzane (tmj) has such a good support system in the two of you... really. Unconditional support and friendship is awesome to see... and I really admire the two of you! I'll take you guys on my team ANY day of the week!!!

Please let Suzane know that I prayed for her this evening and will keep her in my prayers. I'm glad to hear that there is even "slight" improvement. I really, really hope this helps for her!!

Thanks for the updates.
