I have been battling strep throat for a week or so, the last 2-3 days i thought I might have to go to ER. My fever got up to 103 last night but it finally broke! yay! I think I had pneumonia a t the same time. the pain was unbearable and that alone alomost sent me to the ER. chest pains, nerve pains and aches like I have never had. ANd I was so weak I could barely lift my head. I feel better today thank goodness. I was just wondering if there is a connection between pain and chronic strep? I tested very high for ASO titers and this was a month ago, before I had strep throat.

On a side note I had to start meds for cholesterol at the age of 31. I better start behaving. nono

I start aquatherapy next week.
my son was supposed to start daycare yesterday but he has strep too. We are all falling apart here!

Its going to be great to have my son in day care 3 days a week. IF we can ever get him there. maybe tomorrow but we are finally getting a snow storm.

hope you are all well.

Hello Melissa!...Wow! .....it sounds like you have had quite a time there! Maybe you have the worst behind you now. I certianlly hope you are on the mend...strep can be rough..and then to suffer from pain on top of that would be miserible.
I also take meds for colesterol, and believe it is Crestor that I take.

Can you tell me what ASO titers is? I have never heard of that term before.

I'm a guessing from the sound of your post..that you like snow storms? I have to admit, that I do too, as it is so pretty after it is over with. We just dont like all the havoc that it produces for the public.

So with your son going to daycare...will you have some time to yourself? Do you have any other children? I dont mean to be nosey, just trying to get to know you.
It's hard to retain things nowdays, as the meds tend to do that to a person, especially when your on very high doses of it.

hey there. ASO titers measure some enzyme that the strep bacteria give off. I think thats right, but I could be wrong.

When my son starts daycare i will have 3 WHOLE days to myself!!! I will be able to book appointments and rest! I cant wait! IS that wrong of me??
I have a daughter who is 8 so she is in school.

SO for not just waiting for my snow.

Merry, I think it is just fine to need some peace and quite from the little ones, especially when a person, is dealing with all sorts of pain. A 3yr old can drain you pretty quick, so don't feel bad at all about looking forward to some time to yourself.

I'm a guessing that your son will be in daycare all day long, or is it just half days? We had a church in our home town that provided a service called Mothers Day Out, and it provided some much needed relief for mothers who needed the extra rest, or time to get things done for themselves.

Your 8yr old daughter must be in 2nd or 3rd grade now, and should be getting to the age to where she can start to help mom out now. The summer time is where they will be a full time job, and like a lot of mommy's, you will be ready for school to start again.

Thanks for sharing the ASO Titers information with me, and I will look it up on line to learn more about it.

I did just look up the ASO Titer test, and now I understand what it is for. Thanks!

Merry,
I hope you can get the peace and that for next week, and I do believe that anytime your ill with strep or something else it can definitely make the pain in your body all that more worse. If your doctor had though you had pneumonia he would've sent you for some chest x-ray's as it's hard to hear. and the coughing you'd have would be horrible, I'm recovering still from the pneumonia I had in January, it was horrible, I sure hope your feeling a whole lot better soon. so prayers are being sent your ways and I hope you get a low pain day soon.
Keep us posted.
