It sounds like your cellulitis is acting up Mikel....the redness and swelling etc. are classic symptoms. I'd check with your doctor asap to see if there's something you can be doing for this...in the meantime, I hope the pain goes away and you start feeling better soon.

hugs,
Pam

Yes, that would probably be the case. Contact your doctor asap...don't just leave this and hope it goes away

Pam you sound like someone who knows how to keep themselves occupied and positive . I'm having a real hard time with my situation .I am virtually immobile without a rolator or wheelchair , I have a small spresd out family , I get very lonely . I can't find any outreach programs thatoffer classes or groups or social interaction , its sooo hard .Not in a relationship obviously , I have my two cats basiclly , a home attendant 4 times a week 3 hours a day to shop and clean . but I can't find anything to belong to or be part of , It gets so lonely and depressing some times . Any ideas Pam ? Thank you .

Hi Mikel!

I'm glad you posted about this. Obviously none of us are doctors but it does sound a lot like cellulitis. Another member does have that also and I'll see if I can get her online to talk to you about it.

One thing I can help with is that loneliness. I know it's not in person but there are a lot of people right here who will be around any time you need us. It may take a bit for someone to answer but we're never far away. We also have a Chat Night on Thursdays. You might try joining us for that. But you can go to the chat rooms any time to see if someone is there. If not just pick a room, like the Chronic Pain room, enter and usually someone will come along to visit before long. Works for me most of the time.

I hope you can get some relief and keep posting.

Mikel, I have no idea where you are or the size of your town. But you do have a computer and I would suggest that you go online and search for local programs in your area that is offered to disabled people. There is usually transportation offered for disabled people too. My Mom used a local group that picked her up and brought her home. She could be taken shopping, to the library and things like that. My mom lived in a small town and had these resources. So, get online and do a local serach of activities offered in your area. Good luck.

Hi Mikel and Straydog... I see from your posting times that you are both up and not sleeping! It's after 2am and I'm in my insomniac mode, too... I'm hoping to, at least, get another hour or two of sleep...I really, really need it! Anyway, I'm sorry you two can't sleep, either.

Mikel... I've never had cellulitis, but have read about it, and it definitely seems like that's what you have going on. I'm so sorry you are having to deal with that. Have you been to the doctor for it? I think some antibiotics would probably be a good thing... ?

I sure hope you feel better!
