Hey everyone,

Sorry...was away for a few weeks with another bout of food poisoning...my second one in 6 months...Just awful! Nothing worse in my eyes as stomach/intestinal demons! ahhh...Sleeping on the bathroom floor...no food for days but salt water and ginger tea....blecchhhh..at least my doggy slept on the floor with me:)

But...now that I feel better and have my appetite back..it also helps my pain levels as I am giddy with feeling healthier!!

Then I try to do so much..like clean the house...walk the dog..go shopping for things for my friend coming to stay for a week...visit my mom, then my neck goes..."ohhh...you can't forget me for too long...nice try though!"

Just wanted to say that as horrible as it was those last weeks with my whole body shutting down...it makes my regular pain seem more tolerable now...

Reading the posts to catch up on everyone's weeks and have been saying prayers for appts. procedures/surgeries for you all...

Chat soon:)

Welcome back Snowbunny! Good to see you here again! What in the world are you eating to get food poisoning that often?

That's what I am wondering!...I am now actually geting worried about the water in my apt complex...I use a filter...but it still smells funny...and I work out of the house..so drink maybe 24 cups a day of water/tea from here as well as my face has been breaking out so much more since I moved in here...(and I'm 41..shouldn't have teenage skin:(...

so...I am going to contact the local health dept. to maybe come out and do a search for anything as it's too much coincidence to have the poisoning so close..I eat close to 99% all organic foods and wash EVERYTHING all the time...

Thanks for the welcome back...How are you? How was the discogram? Resting this weekend?

You are just as cute as a button here on the forum! :) I'm doing OK, but not really, and just waiting on the big day for me. The Discogram went fine, and it was painful, but the members warned me of that, so I was not surprised about it.

Lets hope you can find out what is going on with your health on the sickness. I think your on the right track with the water. Keep checking on it, and maybe you will find what it is. keep in touch, and you can always email me if you want.

I'm headed to bed, oh Shoot!...I have been there all day...I just need to close my eyes now! :)

Hi, Snowbunny,
They should be able to take water samples and run some tests pretty easily, although I'm not sure if you'll have to pay for them.

Has your snow melted yet? (dumb question? LOL)

Good to see you back and good doggy for hanging out with you!! I'm sorry you've been so sick - that's the last thing you need on top of being in pain. I live in fear of something like that happening to me, as I can't physically vomit since having Nissen surgery for GERD. What an awful time you must have had.

I agree with getting your water tested and boiling it in the meantime...sounds like the problem could stem from your water.

Hope you're feeling much better soon, and I hope your pain levels stay manageable.

hugs,
Pam

Welcome back Snowbunny!

Wow, food poisoning twice in six months! Aren't you lucky?! I've never had it, but it sounds absolutely horrible! I'm glad that you're feeling better now! Aren't dogs the best?! They stick with you through anything and everything!

hugs,
Skeye

Thanks Skeye...yes..it was absolutely horrible...I am used to awful pain all the time...but adding alien in body wanting to get out in any way shape or form!! Wow...I literally was praying to God to either take me now...or help me through this...

Adding the bit of helplessness with the largest snow storms back/back where the national guard was called in to help get emergency patients to hospitals..it felt weird to be 'trapped'....happy that I didn't have to go to ER...

Thank goodness for my amazing PM who trained in general medicine too, way back when..kept calling me each day to check on me and see if I needed anything...I am blessed that he is a friend of mine:)

Yes..pets are so wonderful! He just 'knew' that I was so sick and cuddled with me..big lug!...LOL..sweet neighbors would take shifts and take him outside..

Hope you are doing well...I'm trying to catch up on the posts to see what everyone's weeks have been like...always praying for you guys!!

Snowbunny21,

I'm glad you are feeling better!! Wow...to have a doctor call you each day to check on you? That is amazing! You are blessed to have that kind of friendship - I'm happy for you!

Oh, and I'm glad your doggy was there for you! They do just "know" what we need, don't they? Our maltipoo (Daisy) is 1 year old now...and I couldn't make it through the nights without her! I have terrible insomnia...and she'll just come and sit with me until I go back to bed. I love her!

Anyway, I'm glad you are feeling better, and are back on the board, hon!

Hi Snowbunny, have your water tested for giardia, thats a nasty one that can come through the pipes of old buildings.

My friend had to boil all her water for awhile until the filters got fixed up properly. I think you have to boil for 1 minutes to kill giardia from memory.

Sorry you've been so ill, I hate vommitting bugs so exhausting. I'm so glad you're well again.

Best wishes, golitho

Snowbunny, I know exactly how you feel about the lesser pain days. I'm in the process of having diagnostic injections done and have had about 24 hrs of having reduced pain in my lumbar spine in the last couple months. It's not much but when it comes to chronic pain we take anything we can get!
