Started coughing again after I finished the second round of antibotics, for this pneumonia and over the weekend my left chest started hurting bad, so got into the doctor today and he's starting another round of levaquin (antibotic) and more nebulizer treatments, chest and low back hurt so bad today and the cold weather we are having and Houston might get snow tonight..
All I can think of is how I wish I had a blueberry smoothie right now, they put a little sweet cream in it for me....
I wish everyone well and will post more when I'm feeling better...

oh Chartreux, I am so sorry you are still going thru this. I sure hope this new round of treatment is the last you need and the pneumonia will be gone once and for all.

Bundle up, stay warm and snuggly, maybe pop in a favourite movie and take care of yourself. I'm sending healing thoughts from Canada to you!

Gentle hugs,

Pam

I personally think you deserve that blueberry smoothie and I think you should call someone and ask them to bring you one! I used to make smoothies all the time for my kids before this nightmare began it's horrible ride in my life. Anyway, just in case you want to know, in a blender I put ice, about a half container of vanilla yogurt, one banana, and cranrasberry juice to cover all the ingredients. Blend and ta-da! For a blueberry I'd use all the ice, vanilla yogurt, a couple of handful of blueberries (or more!) and either blueberry juice or cran/blueberry juice. I'm sure you could use your own ideas and tastebuds to make something dreamy like adding some cream to it! I hope you get to feeling oh so much better and quick too! I take Levaquin often as I am allergic to almost all antibiotics and it is certainly the Superman of antibiotics! Oh and my best friend lives just outside of Brownwood, Tx. and they have almost 6 inches of snow! That's crazy! Take care, keep warm and I so hope you get your smoothie!

Chart, get your cozy pj's, blanket, a good book and just cuddle in for a long winters nap. Sounds like you'd better just sleep until spring, then you won't catch anything else.

Take care and post when you feel better!

OH Chartreux! I'm so sorry to hear this! Please stay on top of this. My EX had this several years ago, and it took several treatments of many different kinds of meds to finally get rid of it. I'm not sure, but I had been told that once you have had this, you are susceptible to it again. Do they know if there was any scaring of the lungs the first time with it? I sincerely hope you get to feeling better very soon. Do they have you push fluids? Also I think they want you to cough as much as possible, but I'm not sure, and I would not want to tell you something that is not true.

What are we going to do with you! We need you to be healthy! If you get to feeling worse, and you do not think the meds are working, please get in right away to have it checked out. Hang in there, and I wish I could bring you a Smoothie myself.
Make sure that wonderful husband of yours, keeps us updated, if your not able to do so for us.

Take care little woman! Your buddy Always!

Oh Chart,

I'm so sorry you have to go through this. Don't count out the IV antibiotics. They may be exactly what you need to get this GONE for good! I've had pneumonia several times and found that I'd rather spend a few days in a hospital (horrible~!!!) than to spend so many weeks/months in such pain and exhaustion!

I'm really, really sorry you have to endure this on top of everything else.

Char,
Like everyone I am wishing this round of antibiotics does the trick. I had pneumonia back in the 1980's when I used to smoke, and it took a good 6 months to get back to feeling like "me" again. But I was still smoking (shame on me). After I quit, I never had problems again. I don't think you're a smoker, though.

Sending you lots of soft, healing hugs!

((((((((((((((((Chartreux))))))))))))))

And I agree you deserve that smoothie!

Hugs,

PaLady

Wow, Thanks y'all are the best!
I'm not up to par yet, and had a very bad night last night, it hurt to breathe in after my nebulizer treatment,
and when I take a bath it feels like my left side under the ribs is being compressed and that hurts..
so I use my heating pad sparingly, and sure hope to shake this soon
PALady , I'm not a smoker but my hubby is and when he comes in from a smoke to early that hurts...
HUGZ Y'all and I'll post back later...so tired...so tired...

Take care and let us know how your progressing. Miss hearing from you.

Chart...

I'm with everyone -- I'm hoping you feel better. I'm sorry to hear you are suffering again with that nasty stuff. I'm sure it has wiped you out; lung stuff will definitely do that.

Feel better... and I'm hoping, too, that you got your smoothie :)

It sounds like you have gotten a nasty really resistant bug! I do hope that the antibiotics that your on will finally give it that knock-out punch! Just be gently with, and take good care of yourself! You know you mentioned wanting to have a blueberry smoothie, I will admit that does sound so good. Yesterday I was at a shopping mall up near Chicago, and they had a place that had the blueberry smoothies, all kinds of things like that, and I just about got one, but then I seen that they had the original OrangeJulius! I it has been at least 30 plus years since I have had one of those, I used to get them when I was single and stationed out in California, well as irony would have it, I am single again and I just had to have one! So instead of the blueberry smoothie, I got the Orange Julius, the price sure has changed for them, but the memories it brought back was well worth the cost!

Be Good to Yourself Chart and I do hope you are getting better!

Hello Chartreux! Just checking with you to see how you are doing! Can you get that husband of yours to give us a report on you? I have been thinking about you all the time and hope you are getting better with time.

Oh Char, I hope you throw this off soon, make sure you're resting, walking is good for loosening up the mucus, when I had pneumonia they told me to keep walking and sleeping propped up which I'm sure you're doing. Are you having any percusion on your chest or back to help bring up all the nasty stuff? Bet your hubby to gentle cup your back while you lie on your tummy (if you can?) You need to get the bad stuff up and out of your chest.

I really hope the anti biotics work this time. I think it took me 10 weeks to get rid of my dose! I'm sure there are "super bugs" out there now. It seems to take more and stronger anti biotics to get rid of them.

Healing hugs, golitho
