Hi Mikel...so sorry you are in such pain...have you tried applying warm washcloths...I do not say heat, because there may be a limit in sensation making heat more dangerous...soak in warm bath or take warm shower??? if none has worked, I will send you warm wishes, and big warm hugs, J

Mikel sorry to hear you are doing so bad. I thought you had a drs appt last week? If so, what happened. Are your drs doing any type of labs or anything like a CBC to see what your count looks like as in checking for infection? Any time I have a falre up of cellulitis the first thing they do is a CBC checking the infection rate.

Also, what type of dr is treating you for this leg problem? Have you by chance been seen by an infectious disease dr for it? Just some thoughts going around in my mind. Hope you get to feeling better.

HI Mike,

Sorry to hear that you are having more pain...

If I may ask..since you have it listed on your signature...are you taking medicine for your HIV? As you know..it's extremely important to keep your T cell-levels high to avoid infections...so taking all your medicine on schedule for that is crucial to keeping your immune system as healthy as it can be...

So...just wondering as you may not have all your medicine listed on your signature..but didn't see anything for your HIV listed so very worried about you...

Will say some prayers for your pain Mike...

Thanks for the update Mike..I didn't mean to pry...and hope it didn't seem that way...I am so happy to hear how high your levels are...YEA!!

I truly hope that you can get this leg issue under control for the pain...maybe that new vascular Dr. will be able to help.

Rest up...maybe go find a good tv show/movie to watch to help make you smile and take your mind off of things for a bit...

Hugs (( ))

Its real frustrating with the leg situation. I started out with horrible swelling and then the cellulitis infections one after another. I was eventullay seen by a vascular dr who did the sonograms on my legs. Fortunately, I had no blood clots which I knew that, and also no blockage anywhere. I am one of these people that are prone to swollen legs due to build up of fluid. about all they can do for that is give you a diurectic and wear compression hose to help keep the swelling down. Gets old real fast.

Mikel,
I don't have any suggestions about your condition, but from the title of your post I sure can relate to the weather affecting pain levels!

I hope you find some answers soon and that this new doc you're going to consult can help you.

Take care,

PaLady

straydog thanks so much for that info .Did you also expierence a tightness of the skin ans a redness of the skin ? This is what I have but no fever or anything . Thats why they weren't sure it is cellulitus because of the lack of me having a fever . Did you have fever and these other things i mentioned ? Thanks PAlady for your kind words

Mikel yes, I do get the tightness and it feels like my legs are going to split open. It is very difficult to walk or even stand on them when they get like that. I get what is called pitting edema too, which is fluid build up in the legs and the compression hose and a diurectic help.

Cellulitis causes your legs to swell, be red and hot to touch with fever. You will also get blisters on your skin. If there is heavy fluid build up the fluid can seep through the skin, the fluid has to come out somehow. I have done this many times. I am back wearing compression hose now because of the swelling and fluid build up.

See straydog thats the thing my legs aren't swollen anymore , there is redness in one leg an skin tightness in that same leg , some skin tightness but much less in the other leg , their not hot to the touch and I never had blisters . Ihad that seep thru thing Ithink because of the tightness of the skin .But I never had fever , its weird thats why they don't think its cellulitus .I've gotten rid of the swelling , but the pain and tightness and redness persist .I don't know maybe vascular , it seemsI can't find an answer . thanks again for your help .

Tightness and fluid leaking can also be a fluid retention problem.

Hey Mikel!

I hope you are doing well today and that your leg has improved 100%. I'm hanging out listening to my dog bark and thinking if I have to go to the door to accept a package, I don't know that I could make it! This arm, headache and shoulder are really getting to me.  If they don't do something soon, I feel like I'm going to crack! Can't take much more of this. Thanks for thinking of me and I'll type to you later!

Mikel...

I haven't been on in a few days... but I just want to comment on what a positive attitude you have; it's infectious to others! Even though we are all dealing with pretty heavy stuff, you just have a way about you that shows what a good heart you have. Just wanted you to know that! Oh, and please try not to feel alone! I know how that feels... especially when dealing with all of these physical issues... but you are so NOT alone. You have lots of people here that love and care about you; so try to remember that, ok?
