Hi Everyone,

It hit me the other day that we have many of the "old time" members missing from the forum. Some have been gone longer than others. For those that have been gone awhile I do hope they have found pain free days and do not feel the need to be postong here at the forum. I do have a terrible time remembering most of the names, perhaps some of you will remember some of them. A couple that we have not heard from in a long time is Moondancer, SplashDancer, Kara and Sam Robertson. Other folks that have not been posting much lately is FatherJohn and Mrs123.  Now if I don't post your name on here, please don't get all riled up, it is not that I am slighting anyone, its just trying to remember so many different people over the years. If you know about any of these people please let us know.

crohns disease dx 2002 & small bowel resection, still looking for remission whatever that is, chronic pain 22 yrs, added ulcerative colitis 6-05 to the mix, high blood pressure 28 yrs, aortic heart valve insuffiency, depression, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis lumbar spine, scoliosis lumbar spine, peripheral neuropathy hands & feet, COPD & on oxygen therapy, lupus & psoriasis and psoratic arthritis. Several other health issues just not enough room to list it all. Too many surgeries to list and too many medications to list. Currently on 17 different daily medications. Susie,
I'd thought about posting this myself. Like you, I can't remember everyone, but I do think there's been some changes in the forum of late and I wondered about that.

BTW if some of you are "lurking" (or for that matter any of you who have never posted and just "lurk" - which is fine! LOL) want to post some thoughts on this, I'd be interested in reading them. Does anyone who's been reading regularly see any changes in the CP forum over the recent past that might be contributing to members leaving? Just curious.

Also - reading updates would be great. Fatherjohn, last we heard from you things were not going very well...and I hope you're doing ok.

LLPLUV is another member off the top of my head, but like Susie, I can't remember everyone, and many people may be feeling better or too busy - the former reason would be great!

Thanks, Susie, for posting this!

PaLady

Ah, Patti thanks so much for posting, so my post did get someone's attention that hasn't posted in a while. I think we can all relate to not feeling like sitting in front of a computer some days. It just seems that there are just so many people MIA over the last 6 months or so and I just ran into a wall trying to remember names. But, then some days I do good to remember my own, lol.

Char I sort of remember a squabble awhile back over that. I really don't think that was the cause tho, if I am remembering right it was one particular person that got sideways and mouthed off over some of the spelling. Shoot, if someone would leave over a misspelled word then no one would be on this forum. lol. We all do the best we can and sometimes typos get in the way of things, jeesh. I try to always proof my stuff but then I still have typos and misspelled words along the way, lol.

Laurie,
Great that you're found, although a visit with the oncologist....well, I'll wait for your post to tell us what's up when you feel ready to. Start a new thread though, ok? (miss my vamp pal! LOL)

Char - I guess I missed the spelling thing, but I'm with straydog on that! I used to be great with writing and spelling. Past tense, along with memory, so I probably saw the whole thing and forgot it! I do hope you start feeling better!

Edt- I've seen you post off and on so I kind of knew you were still hanging out - which is great (well, it would be better if you got all well and went off to live life w/o CP....).

Good to start hearing from a few. Wish I could remember more names.

Yep, Patti that would be an appropriate theme song I do believe, lol. Again, I am so glad you were lurking and popped by.

Jeesh, I could not remember when I joined HW so I scrolled up to look, omg, I am a real "old timer" here, I started back in Feb of 03. Wow, where has the time gone and the people. Oh, wouldn't it be fun to have an onlinme reunion???

At one time my memory was a great attribute at work. If one of the atty's couldn't remember the name of an old client they always came & asked me. They would tell me bits & pieces of what they could remember and usually I came up with the name. How, I could remember I don't know, I saw a lot of people come & go over 18 yrs. That includes employees and atty's that we had hired. lol. We had the quite the turn over which was very common in that practice.

Hi Stray and the rest of the gang, old and new,

I am here. In fact, I try to check in at least every other day to see how everyone is doing, but between the difficulty in typing with my wrist issue and my back/hips not allowing me to sit or stand for longer than a few minutes at a time, it is difficult to write most days lately.

I said back in December and early January that I would go see this hand surgeon in NJ again and schedule getting this thing taken care of and now it is March already.......where did the time fly off to? I wonder if I can manage to again find good reason to postpone things for another few months.......I'm sure that I will have no difficulty coming up with good excuses......anyone want to help me compile a new list?????????wink I'm sorry to have worried anyone. Mom was nice enough to check in via my email and make sure that I am still alive and kicking ( not so much on the kicking part........LOL)tongue

I hope that everyone is doing okay and that their pain levels are at least on the way to coming down. I can't say the same here, but it is my hope for all of us that one day soon , we will find our way on the downward trend of the pain scales.

Lots of love to all,

Sandismurf

Sandi,
So good to hear from you, although I wish things were doing better. I do like your idea of making a list of our "excuses". Then we could see who wins - crown the Queen and King of Excuses!

It's just good to know you're still poking around.

Hugs,

Stray... I'm glad you posted this thread... I, too, get to thinking about people that I haven't heard about in awhile. That being said, there have been times where I am one of those people!

Life gets so hectic sometimes, and it's all I can do just to get on here sometimes and just do a quick scan on everything. In fact, it's only been about three or four days since I've been on here - and there's about three pages worth of posts to read through! So, while I do hope and PRAY people are feeling better, I think it's mostly that life gets complicated for most of us, trying to live with chronic pain/illness and just survive.

Mrsm123 (Sandi) - it was good to see your post here! Yep, I had to e-mail you and make sure you were doing ok!! I have NO problem coming up with excuses for things either... :) And, regarding where time went? I have absolutely NO clue! I cannot believe it is March.... WOW.

Anyway, to old and new friends, and even ones that we haven't heard from in awhile, thanks for all of the encouragement and friendship that you've given me over the years. It's been invaluable. I honestly think about you as I try to get through the day, and hope that you are all doing all right.
