I talked to my lawyers office the other day to update them on my med changes/increases.  They took my information and told me that they were still waiting for my doctors to reply to the request for my medical information.  Other than that I am still waiting for a reply from SS regarding my appeal.
You said you had received a paper regarding your pain levels.  Was this from your lawyer or SS?  Just curious because I haven't received anything from SS but I did have to fill out my appeal paperwork from the lawyer and it had all kinds of questions about my pain levels since I last filed.
This time I made sure to put how long I could do specific things but also added how much time I spent sitting in the recliner or lying on the bed due to my pain levels increasing and that I had to do this to stop the increase.
There were questions regarding how my meds affected me and I was thorough and honest about this.  I did add that my typing skills had diminished and that I made alot of typo's from the meds.  I don't want them thinking that they could stick me behind a desk entering data all day for work.  Even while on this forum I have to stop and get up often to move around plus I am constantly retyping my posts.
Sounds like you are feeling somewhat better now.  Let me know if you hear anything from SS or your lawyers and no I didn't get the OK from SS for my birthday.  Would have been nice though!

Hi Jag,
I recieved another supplemental pain questionaire like the ones I filled out for them before. This one has 10 questions all pertaining to my pain and how it affects my day to day life. I've been working on it for a couple days already and have only finished 3 answers!!! I feel like I'm writing a book! I'm not sure if thats good or bad now after what you said about them thinking you are able to type/write good/bad????
They are asking me to go into great detail and describing everything about my pain and life! I just thought I'd be overly descriptive as that is what they are asking me for.
Like you, I'm sick of this bull crap! I'm worried that it doesn't matter what I write because they will take me to the 3rd step> (a hearing) no matter what I do! It really sucks! I'm starting to get pretty worried about our financial future because we can't keep spending more $$$ than is coming in! I'm sick of the doctors and have several other health problems that I'm not taking care of because of the $$$ or lack of it! My depression is getting worse, one day I think I'm doing better then the next I'm lower than a snakes belly!!! I really need to see a shrink but I know that he/she will want to see me at least weekly and I can't aford that!
GGGGGRRRRRRR!!!!!! Sorry to whine Jag!!! I'm just at the end of my rope and every day my pain seems to get worse!
I've been crying alot and having hot flashes but just got my testosterone shot yesterday so hopefully that will help. It seems like I go from being male to female every 3 weeks! I'm a mess!
Again sorry! I just started to answer your questions about SSD and went off on a big PooPoo!!
Anyway, thanks for responding> I need a Hug!

Hi Pete and Jag:

I don't mean to be nosy, but I just wanted to tell you that I strongly believe that being extremely detailed is part of the reason I was approved. That and having a good attorney. My attorney and the doctors SSD sent me to all commented that they very much appreciated how meticulous my answers were.

I also encourage you to keep copies of everything - every 2 years or so, they will review your case to make sure that you are still eligible for benefits, and I always look back to what I wrote previously - just to make sure I don't forget anything.

I'll be rooting for you!

It was weird yesterday because after posting to you I went to the grocery store a little later and while in the cereal aisle my phone rang. It was a case worker from SS wanting to ask me a question. Since I was the only one in the aisle I went ahead and answered him right then.

I had stated on my appeal that my pain levels had increased since I had last filed and he wanted information about this. I told him that my ability to do simple things around the house were getting harder and that I had to take more breaks throughout the day either in the recliner or lying in bed to alleviate the pain. I did tell him that I'd been going through diagnostic testing for my facet syndrome and that I was scheduled to have rf done in April. I did make sure he knew that this was not a fix but that if it worked the goal would be to decrease my pain levels by 50% for an unknown amount of time. I also made sure that he understood that my pain wasn't only the lumbar spine but my entire spine and that after we are finished in the lumbar area the doc plans to move up to the cervical spine. My left arm is giving me alot of trouble now, just like before my cervical fusion. Aching and lose of strength. Also, I let him know that I can't get up from a stooped position anymore without holding onto something. I'm having alot of sciatic problems in my right leg making the back of my knee ache like heck.

I did go into more detail with him but don't want this to get too lengthy. He also asked me if I'd be willing to see an SS doctor & I told him yes. After our conversation I did call my lawyer to see if I was supposed to have talked to the SS guy and they told me that they had signed a release allowing him to call me.

I'm sorry about your financial problems. I can definately relate to it. When I was working at my old job I was making over $18 per hour with good benefits (worked for Proter & Gamble). Life was good with both hubby & I making good money. But now with me not working & then my son got laid off, plus got screwed out of his unemployment, he had to move in with us. Things have been going down hill since then. My son did get called back to his old job two weeks ago after 1.5 yrs so things are looking better there.

I just pray I get the ok on the appeal, just like you. Things could go from bad to ugly if we have to wait 2 more years to see a judge. My husbands insurance isn't that great so other than my pain doctor we are forgoing medical care for awhile.

Try to keep your head up Pete. Don't hold your worries in trying to protect your family or friends. If you can't afford a psychologist talk to others that love you & care for you. Go ahead and cry sometimes, it's good to let it out, but don't let it take over either. Take care, Pete, and I'll let you know if I hear anything.
