I had been taking Oxicontin for pain as well as Percocet and Icouldnt keep awake even after sleeping so my pain therapist suggested non-narcotic pain killers , so now I'm taking celebrex but I still feel drowsey .I''m on the methedone program as well 40mg , I don't know what to try next , i thought I'd feel ok after stopping the oxi and percocet. The pain is about the same suprisingly and thankfully but i feel drowsey and get hot/warm flashes .I'm just trying to feel as normal as possible and its not working , maybe I'm stupid to expect to feel normal but its my goal for sure .I gave blood to check my t-cells yesterday , I'm hoping against hope they will be raised up to what I need . My brothers supposed to be moving away too , I'll be all alone so thats scary and sad , hes my only family and best friend ,my other family live out of state . So I lost my best friend and only family, great huh?

Mikel...

We haven't talked all that much... but I've read your posts... and see what a wonderful person you seem to be. I'm so sorry for the things you are going through. I really am.

I don't know what to say about the drowsiness... I would have thought that maybe stopping the narcotics, it would have helped. I will pray that your T-cells are up, my friend... How soon until you know the results? I'll keep you in my prayers, ok? I pray that they are raised to what they need to be...

I'm sorry your brother is leaving. It definitely IS scary and sad... I "lost" my best friend through a series of events a couple of years back, and it hurts deeply, that I know. Though she wasn't my "blood" sister...she was definitely my sister....I had known her for 25+ years...

I'm going through a bunch of hard stuff in my own life...so all I can say is that I can relate to how you are feeling, and I wish there was something I could do to help you feel better. All that I can say is that I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers, Mikel... I hope it helps...if even a little...to know that you have people here that deeply care about you.

Take care...Tina

Drowsiness is a very common side effect of Methadone. Maybe that is why you are still feeling tired.

Jim thanks for your suggestion , I'm only on 40mgso i don't think its that because also I used to be on as high a dos as 90 mg , I think its to do with the narcotic pain killers im using so I'm going to change that asap . But thanks for caring friend.

Have you thought about having a sleep study done. Maybe you are not reaching REM sleep or if you are maybe you are not staying in it long enough or getting there often enough. A lack of REM sleep will cause a person to feel tired regardless of how many hours of sleep they get.

Just a thought.

Thanks Jim a good thought , although I hope not .Just tonite I don't feel drowsey for the fiest time in awhile but I have been sleep deprived since i had my health siuation happen and didn't know how to allow it to happen instead of send me into a panic .I'm learning how to deal with it by letting it happen and being the space to let it happen .I was fighting it , resenting it and being preoccupie by it .Now i let it happen , my body being the space for it to happen but I don't dwell I continue on with my life , a very new expierence but I've moved on faster finding what I need to make my life what I want it to be .I'm a work in progress for sure , but I beleive the drowseness and other reactions I had were my creation in response to health issues and a way i was trained to think about life . I now can talk myself thru most of the noise in my head and as a result my head is quieter , maybe thats why I sleep better , its not perfect but its better .Thanks Jim , I'll keep your thought in mind though because its a good one.  Mikel
