Hello everyone,
Just a quick update on my postop. First.........Screaming I am so glad to hear that you are recovering. I know not as quick as you would like, "just keep walking"
As you all know I had a fusion back in Febuary. The surgery went great but had a secondary complication of an infection, that led to superfisial blood clots. Still on blood thiners, and have dopler every week. So far they have remaned the same. Good news. I walk everyday as much as I can. I am lucky in that it is part of my job to be on clients very large estates, so I get my exersice while I work.
I went back to work after only two weeks. I have wonderful co workers that have really been helping out a lot. I work in the landscape industry so it is our busy season. If I drop a pen, someone is always their to bend over and pick it up. I dropped my cell phone the other day (heavy duty) and kicked it over to someone so that the could pick it up. Everyone has been great!,
I am in a management position, but also like to get my hands dirty when it comes time to plant big beautiful annual containers, well we hired someone to do it for me. It is going to be very difficult for me to give up that control. My heath is much more important.
As for my recovery, I think I could have sayed home a couple more weeks. yesterday I had such terrible pain in my leg (dr. said normal, it is the nerves healing) so I took my pain meds. Of course I get a call from one of my crews to go to a property and of course I could not drive. So one of my co-workers stepped in and drove me  So today I will be hanging low and not doing a thing.
I am looking forward to starting physical therapy, I feel very heavy and sluggish. I know I have lost a lot of muscle tone, and replaced it with fat. Still obeying Dr/ orders of not bending, lifting, wisting, etc. Of course I lost a few pounds following surgery, but am completely out of shape. Of course just in time for spring and summer.   Can't wait to get my body and me back.
Any way, that was a long post. Hope everyone is doing well and having a pain free weekend.

Hey Hydrangea!

Your job does sound wonderful and so do your coworkers! It is hard to not be able to do for yourself but your attitude is so wonderful. Sometimes folks get going way to soon after surgery and they undo all of the hard work the doc did and their efforts in it also. Glad you are patient and I do hope you cat get into that PT routine soon.

Warm hugs,

Hydrangea, I hope you continue to get better. I have been walking my rear off here, and actually walked 4 miles today. I seem to have my potty training down pretty well now. Are you working 8 hr days now, and are you still on the pain meds?
