It's the middle of the week and time for a bit of day dreaming. Right up our alley! tongue Let's consider that money isn't a huge problem and that we're feeling pretty good...what vacations would you most like to take in the next five years?

For me vacation is pulling a trailer and all about rest and no worry, getting away from the phone and household responsibilities. Hubby and I have talked about trying to see as many national parks as possible/reasonable. So in the next 5 years I'd like to do Crater Lake in Oregon, Glacier National Park in Montana, John Day Fossil Beds National Monument in Oregon, Dinosaur National Monument in Utah/Colorado, and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Saw it from the south rim but the north is a bit more isolated and I want to get there on our 20th anniversary.

Where would you like to go on vacation over the next 5 years?

Well I have seen the Grand Canyon from 30 thousand feet in an jet airliner, but I have never seen it close up, so that is one place I would like to go on vacation to. And since money is no object, I would like to have a nice motor home with all the bells and whistles, so I could travel all over the United States, and since I am retired military, I can go to military bases ) most all have camp grounds where you can park these units with all the hook-ups. There are so many places I have never been to, and I would like to see them all! After I park the motor home I would like to have a trike, to get around on, Honda has a nice one and also the newer Can Am Spyder would be alright too! I couldn't do a motorcycle, but I could do a Three wheeler!

Hey I can always Dream! There are so many National Parks and places all over these United States that I would like to see!

I like your ideas, WB and Chutz.... :)

I'm all in w/ you an RV...traveling the states. I've done this "dream" once....when the boys where smaller...and I was healthier. We traveled in our motor home/15 passenger van across the US - 38 states...6 was wonderful. Grand Canyon; Mt. Rushmore; 3 weeks in Washington DC; oh...and, of course, Disneyland and Disney World. I used to homeschool all the boys and things like this were possible....

So, if time/money/health were no issue....I'd love to repeat that that the boys are older.

Main Health Problems: Dysautonomia/POTS; CFS/Fibromyalgia; Severe Hypertension; Hypothyroidism; Hypoadrenalism; Mixed (Obstructive/Central) Sleep Apnea - on Auto BiPap; Depression/Anxiety; Severe Vitamin D Deficiency

Pain Issues: Cervical/Thoracic back pain; migraines; carpal tunnel syndrome; widespread joint/muscle pain, nerve pain in hands/arms/feet; Future Plans: Intrathecal Pain Pump; already completed trial (Sept, 2008); awaiting my decision for implantation

OH BOY! Here we go! I was just looking at Motor Homes tonight on Ebay! It would be so much fun to travel in one of these and see the country. Of course, it would have to be a Toy Hauler, as I would want to take the Harley and my Biggreenegg! :)
You know, I'm really a big people person, so I think I would travel all over the country and visit all of the Chronic Pain members. And, such money is no object, I would be handing it out to all the members that i visited, to help them with their quality of life.

I have met some wonderful people here, and truly have made friends for life with many of them. It would just be wonderful to meet them all.
Oh and I have a special thing in mind for the grouchy lonely people that I may come across....a little fairy dust, that makes them smile, and melt into the most personable person you would ever want to meet! :) We all bump into these people in life from time to time, and I would just love to see a smile on their face, hope in their heart, and kindness in their soul! :)

Chutz, I really do fantasize at times like this, and I think there are many here that do too. They may not admit it, but I'm just sure of it.

So that is it in a nut shell for me. I would travel the country to visit Chronic Pain members, spreading cheer and hope.

OK, so I took a pain med at midnight, and I may be a little out there at the moment. Tomorrow is a new day and the past is the past! :) Hop off your Broom or what ever your ridding and Get over it! :)
Chutz if I messed up here, just erase it or edit it. Don't mean any harm here, I'm just blabbing away.

Of course this is a middle of the night rambling since I can't sleep right now. I think I'll go on vacation in my mind.

If money and health were no problem and I could simply enjoy wherever I went, I would choose to take my family and go to some small gem mining areas and "play" for a while. Then we'd go view all of the underground caverns, like the one I wen to in Virginia. There was an organ inside of the maze of geological formations that sounded sweeter than anything imaginable. I think I'd simply enjoy being able to take it slow and easy, watch my child as she found some prescious gem and then see the wonder on her face when she was walking in a natural cave under the earth.

No big plans here....simplicity..........peace............smiiles and excitement from a child.

Of course.....she is looking forward to the 2-3 weeks when school gets out and she goes to Hawaii with her grandparents. Strangely, this doesn't interest me because of the flight. I'm sure she will remember it forever.

So many of you mention the motor home, that I have to tell you what my husband did for me with ours. We had just purchased a new "camper" with all the bells and whistles (so that I would go too....I like comfort) before I had my surgery. Because it became increasingly difficult to travel, my husband had some land cleared on our mill pond in a neighboring county. My mother lives across the pond (lake actually) and we can just see her house from where the camper is now "living". He had electricity and water installed for comfort, bought me a wonderful swing and moved it to the edge of the pond, made ramps into and out of the old mill house where the water runs underneath, and is right now building a large tin roof building over the camper and extending the deck. The building is made so that we can upgrade in another several years again, without any damage to the old one. It will also help with the GA heat during the summer and allow us to keep the camper vented constantly. He also installed the DirectTV pole and we keep an extra receiver for when he and my daughter want to get out and I don't feel quite like it. Last, but certainly not least, he purchased new boat seats and a wonderful foot-propelled motor for our pond boat and now I can go with him once in a while. I actually caught a small fish last weekend and that was the very first time I have been fishing in any way in more than a year. I LOVED IT!

I can't wait until the new building is finished so that we can go back and enjoy. It's the perfect weather here!

Even if you can't get out and pull a camper to where you want to go, you can go on mini vacations by getting a change of scenery close to home. We love it!

It's funny that I just read about the Grand Canyon on here because that is where me and my family are going in June! :) We are going to be around the south rim and staying in Flagstaff.

But my dream vacation would be visiting Ireland and England - if I wasn't afraid of flying that is. For a long time I have been wanting to go. So who knows, maybe one day I will with the help of valiums that is. :)
