Well... I was able to get through the weekend without dwelling too much on what was to come for Monday's appointment. My fiance and I went to Santa Monica pier, 3rd Street promenade and drove around Hollywood and Beverly Hills a bit before heading back up to Santa Barbara. We did a lot of walking and my legs were sure screaming in agony, but I wouldn't take back the time spent together with my fiance for the world. I have noticed walking long distances really puts a strain on my calves, which has been where all my pain has been recently. Sunday, as the weather here in Santa Barbara has been absolutely wonderful, we went down to the pier and walked the art crowds and then up and down the pier. I was done for after that.

Monday came and I did my ultrasound to check for blood clots and what are called Baker's cysts. Today I went to get my blood drawn to check for specific vitamin deficiencies. I am unsure how long it will take before I hear back from my endocrinologist on the results and all I can do is sit and wait.

In the meantime, it seems like yesterday was the first day where I felt good enough to go the gym in 3 weeks. I guess we take the good days with our bad days right? Well... here is hoping for more good days than bad while I wait to hear back on my results.

I'm so glad you were able to have the time you did with your fiance! The men who love chonically ill women are really a special breed. I am so happy my hubby and I have that type of relationship. It's wonderful. I've been thinking of you and will continue to check in until you leave word about what came back on your tests.
Take care,
Cat(z4)

Hi Catz4 -

I honestly don't know where I would be without my fiance. Every time I get burdened by my pain I look at him and wonder why he is still here with me? Sometimes I actually ask him. I guess I need that extra reassurance every once in awhile. You know the saying men are from mars, women are from venus? Well, you are so right, Catz4. I have also always felt men who are able to spend the rest of their lives with chronically ill women are a unique breed and definitely do not come from mars. Haha. With all the limitations I have, I have found a man who doesn't mind doing the dishes, cleaning the bathroom and doing the laundry. Honestly.... what more could I ask for?

Anyway... I will definitely keep you posted. I feel I use the forum like a prescription with the directions, take as needed, so I don't feel the need to be on all the time unless I am in severe pain, feel really frustrated or just want to read other posts to see what other people are saying and feeling to possibly get guidance from that. So, thank you for keeping me in your thoughts. :)
