Thank you again everyone for all your good wishes for today for my blood work!!! It means the world to me to have this kind of support and friendship - you are truly wonderful people.
I managed to sleep a bit more last night than usual, so hopefully this deep fatigue I've been feeling is on it's way out the door too. Now, if I could just do something about
all the aches and pains!! Ah well...this too shall pass.
Next step for me is a Botox injection on Monday into the psoas muscle, to try and relieve the constant spasming in my pelvic area. This will be the second Botox injection. I should have gotten up to 3 months of pain relief with the first one and ended up with only a week and a bit. If this one doesn't do more, then the doctors won't do any further. I'm still waiting to see if my insurance will pay for these...each shot costs $500.
I hate getting these done, as you have to go off all pain meds for 24 hours before hand (so they can tell if there's any relief after the injection). Last time, I walked in circles in agony all night and was a total wreck the next day...Yucky!!!
I'm also STILL waiting to get an appointment with the Orthopedic surgeon regarding my right hip. I probably need major surgery as the femur doesn't fit into the socket properly, so it's bone rubbing against bone. I also have tears in the labrum....the condition is called femoralacetabular impingement, and I have both the Cam and Pincer type. We have a Knee and Hip clinic here in Alberta, but after seeing my MRI, they declined me as a patient and referred me to a particular surgeon as he specializes in FAI, and the clinic determined what I have is more extensive than they handle. If/when I get the surgery, it will prevent me from having to have hip replacement(s) later on. It's likely I'll need both hips done over time as well as my knee and possibly shoulder.
So, anyways...thanks again for ALL the good thoughts and the laughs as well. I'll let you know what happens on Monday and would love your good thoughts again during this procedure.
